Now think back to those wonderful times of 'opening new packs'.  The great smell of those packaging chemicals, the suspence of what could be inside.  Could they have messed up the distribution, and left me with 2 beholders in one case!!!  Hopefully I can pull the most expensive one like the huge red, so I can turn around and put it up for trade bait.  And the relief of fulfilling all those campaign needs (The horned devil gates in how many more devils?)

War chanter, just another humanoid, and I could've pulled a Lord Soth or a Rakshasa.  Curse you war chanter!!!

Seriously, how often are you using samurai's in your campaigns and warbands.

Ok, a phoelarch, ever notice how this is in everyone's HAVE-To-Trade list?

Slayer of just another humanoid.

Will the sand giant use his slippery sword or hit me with his giant banana.

War Weaver, war chanter, yet another rinky dink humanoid figure as a rare.

Lillend, ah lillend, you are so very colorful, however you have no place in my warband with your cruddy hit points and AC, and no place in my campaign unless I throw you in some random encounter.

Ogre Executioner, booooorinnnnnng.  Now I need an ogre judge and an ogre jury.

Large White Dragon, this has to be absolutely in my opinion the worst rare of all time.  It is a sorry excuse for a dragon.  They should have taken the aspect of tiamat head and built on that.  This thing has a look on its face like its suffering from Rabbititis (Bugs bunny cartoon where elmer fudd sees spots).  It has some goofy looking turned down bird beak jaw.  And as a white dragon normally is, its all white, completely!  No splashes of yellow on the underbelly or tints of blue in the scales, nope it just a ball of white suck.  And as you might be able to tell at this point, this was the reason for my idea of this post.

Bar-Lgura, I really just picked one from the set I thought may not have much value and provide some disappointment were someone to pull one out.  I don't have any DoD rares yet, so my apologies if I should have had the fire archon, merc general, or werewolf champ here.  I'm just thinking, Bar-Lgura WTF!

but i found the poll/survey thing the other night in a thread, and i thought it would be cool to do

i like tons of humanoid figures, but why do they have to suck up the 'rare' portion of my booster box

well, dromite wilder is at least a dromite!, slayer of domiel is just another sneaky looking human

again, poll is very subjective, and i thought it would be fun to do.  i'd definitely vote early and often if someone were to do each set one by one, but i thought that may be a little overboard in terms of 'why you gotta be such a hater, wheres the love man' kinda thing for this great community :)

Voted for the Phoelarch as he was the worst choice from the list provided.  The Large White and Ogre Executioner are two solid Rares I looked forward to getting (unlike a Lilland, or Phoearch).Â

On the other hand there have been some other real stinker Rares.Â

Any chance to revise your poll and add an "Other" category?  If not the poll is what it is.Â

This was a very hard poll because most of the rares are really cool. There are TONS of rares worse than these. I had a hard time believing these were my choices.

 

The Ogre Executioner is probably the coolest looking Ogre mini ever. The Large Whire Dragon is impossible to trade for and I have still never seen one with my own eyes. The Lillend is also a piece of beauty despite being to big (large base is correct. Its just the mini on the base should be Yaun-ti Campion size). The Female PC minis (Paladin, Rogue and Sorcer) are female versions of PCs we have in small supply. The War Chanter is a BARD!! We have little to no bard minis. This list blows my mind.

 

Where is the craptacular woman on a sideways griffon??? How do you make a poll based on the worst rare of all time and not mention the Griffon Rider????

 

I chose the Bar-L'gura because the large sizer is so dissapointing. Thats all I could do based on this list of decent rares. 

But what does "worst" mean?
Skirmish worst?
RPG worst?
Appearance worst?

Any mini that is useless to me at both the skirmish and RPG tables is crap. Phoelarch fits the bill perfectly. Although others like the Silver Sorceror, Dragon Samurai, Dwarf Samurai are close seconds.

The Large White Dragon shouldn't be on there at all because it's got some serious RPG potential.
