| I'm kinda confused right now, Is WIzards gonna re-stat all figures from Harbinger and UP?
Or Are they sticking to their plans of retiring some sets?
Thanks in advance...... | | | |

Stat Cards Update Announcement
Attention D&D Minis Players! We’re proud to announce that every D&D Miniatures set, from Harbinger, Dragoneye, and Archfiends through next month's Desert of Desolation, will be converted to the new 4th edition skirmish rules.
Starting with the most recent sets and fan-voted “all stars,” these updated stat cards will be posted as PDF downloads on wizards.com. This doesn't change the All-Star voting plans -- you'll still get to see your favorite 60 minis from early sets in July as previously announced. Our current release schedule for skirmish stat card updates is as follows: January 2008: Desert of Desolation, plus a free PDF download of the new rulebook so you can start playing the new minis game immediately with your Desert of Desolation minis. - March 2008: Night Below
- May 2008: Unhallowed
- July 2008: All-Star set (60 minis from sets 1-11 as voted by the community on the D&D web page)
We will announce the schedule for future conversions as our plans solidify. Thanks, The D&D Miniatures Team | | Thanks, realmaster. Let's split up!!!!!

| But don't forget to take a look at the poll going on someplace here on wether or not people think Wizards will actually carry through and how well they do so.

| | The poll makes no difference as far as what WotC intends to do. As one person noted in another, they haven't outright lied to us about DDM, yet. As of now, their position is to re-stat everything. | | Over 270 successful online DDM trades. | |

| | I have no reason to believe that they will not follow through with re-stating all of the cards. it just might take some time. | | Thanks, realmaster. Let's split up!!!!!

| | There is one thing wich annoys me: they will remake all the stats cards in 2.0.So,old useless minis could easily become the new tier 1 minis and viceversa.O.K. what will happen if one old rare become the new best mini in the whole game?? They are not going to release this old mini again so, new players cannot adquire it.That is exactly what happen with magic:TG.Only the player who has the black lotus can win in vintage. There will be various class tournaments (1.0 and 2.0?)? I hope they remake the stats cards but respecting they tier 1 minis wich continue being the tier 1 in 2.0. | | LOVE THIS GIRL | |

They are going to try to balence all the minis. If they succeed then all 800+ minis will be tier-1 (or at least tier-2) So for any figure to be essential to the metagame (Phoelarch or Orc Champion). could only happen if they made a misstake. Since the design team are human, they obviously can make misstakes. In which case I'm sure someone will spot it, report it on these forums & next months 60 re-stated figures will be altered to provide counters to that figure.
| | Don't worry about the current metagame. It doesn't matter if it's ugly, bad, or the best ever. In 2 years time, set rotation will ban everything. | |

| | If past history is any indicator the first sets to be re-stat will be the most conservative and likely the quickest to become marginal figures in the long term (remember ranged attacks from Harbinger and Dragoneye). 2.0 will likely be a very volatile game for the first fews sets and restats much like DDM was through Giants of Legend. Hopefully it won't be as single warband as it was back then. | | Champion of Cyclops

| | I find it highly unlikely that any of the restats will be more than marginally competitive at best. Making anything tier-1 that they're not currently selling boosters for makes them no money. | | The year: 1994. It might be something like the epic cards released in the monthly prize kits. Mostly duds, but a few gems like the Storm Archer. | | Over 270 successful online DDM trades. | |

Making anything tier-1 that they're not currently selling boosters for makes them no money. It may make them money if the sell the re-statted cards, expecially in packs or such where you have to buy the dud re-statted cards with the ones you want. Of course this does not make them money in the aftermarket (ie ebay), but someone will have to buy the cards to begin with.
From what I remember, WotC will provide re-statted cards for DoD1 and Night Below as down load-able cards, I do not recall any of the older ones (ie the All Stars) being available as down-load-able. All I could find was that it says "with updated statistics to be published online in July 2008", nothing about cards being available. Can anyone verify this / provide more details?
