WTF!

Drizzt is the representative of devotees to Mielikki, read the novels, what idiot thought up the flavour text for the Drizzt card in the Icingdeath box?

This is actually a quote from the book "The Crytal Shard".

When Drizzt faces Akar Kessel, the evil wizard under the Shard's influence, he first tries a trick on Kessel that doesn't work.

Then he intruduces himself just the way it says on the DDM card.

(Page 300 if you want to look it up) ;)

Bloody hell, you're right, though it's on page 292 in my edition. But..but.. Drizzt was a ranger of Mielikki, right? Or was this quote from before he met the Unicorn goddess?

It's probably one of those things that Salvatore changed when he wrote the background for Drizzt.  He mentions that there were some differences in the preface to the collector's edition all-one-book version of The Dark Elf Trilogy (Homeland Exile and Sojourn)

yup, but the events in Dark Elf Trilogy happen all before the Icewind Dale Trilogy. The editions with the "errata" referred to is from yet another later date.

did the "newer" edditions rewrite things for 3.5... eg. darkvision vs. infra-red?
