| I mean, will there still be common, uncommon and rare minis in every set?

| Good question. I guess so, but nobody knows. We only know there are still 8 minis per booster.

| If they do it the same way as the 2007 Star Wars minis blister pack starter, the minis won't have a rarity marked on the base.

Does that mean there will be no frequency differences between all the minis of the set? Will all the minis have the same price then if you get them singles?

No, we were only talking bout the starter set, which ahs 5 non-random minis, which do not appear in the boosters.

| | Less symbols is less confusing. If they leave the rarity blank people will default know it's a starter figure. However, if they leave other promo type things blank or something else blank it could get confusing. | | Greyhaze's DDM Spoilers Champion of a Medium Dog & then a Darkenbeast , Raistlin Majere, Nightmare WDQ25/60, Warduke WD60/60, Anti-Champion of Guns, "Knight of Bugbears", and Joke Champion of Venger. | When I first saw this topic, I thought you were talking about the frequency of new set releases.
With respect to the common, uncommon, and rare distribution, I hope that it remains more or less the same. I'm happy with what Wizards has done in that area.
As far as frequency of new sets, I wish they would release two sets of high quality stuff per year. Three sets per year is a little much, especially if one intends to collect long term. | | Over 270 successful online DDM trades.

| I really hope they stay clear of 'very rares'.
Starter set being blank seems okay (heh harbinger minis are empty of rariety) as does make sence. | | Actually, I'd embrace the idea of "very rares" like they have in Star Wars. I find completing a set is too easy - no challenge whatsoever. | | Over 270 successful online DDM trades.

That would be horrible for us rpg players! Sometimes I need several units of rares in my campaign, for example, some devils , demons, giants, (male) ogres, ... which most of them are rares. If there's a new rarity option my purse couldn't bear it!

| I guess it would be hard for the RPG'ers that need several of the nicer rares, if they were turned int VR's. I'm fortunate in that DDM is quite vibrant here in Vancouver, and I'm part of a strong skirmish/RPG pool of minis with my friends.
As far as the bigger money, I haven't noticed it with Star Wars. It seems like their more desirable VR's are in line price-wise with the more desirable rares from DDM. Could it be that we're just getting ahead of ourselves in assuming that DDM VR's would cost substantially more? | | Over 270 successful online DDM trades.

| I've been looking at prices for singles for star wars of late, and to me what holds there prices down is the large amount of repeats (ie there is two released of the same types of vadars ), less role play value, (DDM is brought by a lot of fantasy RPGers not just D&Ders) and lots of unquies.
And if its a chase very rare that doesnt follow that pattern it gets pretty pricey (eg thrawn). Harder to swap for too when less likley for groups to get another.
The extra detail on paint job is often nice.

| | If people buy by the booster and case VR is just a slap in the face. It makes people who buy in the 3 or more case lots do well and normal players collecters unless extremely lucky get the shaft. If people just buy singles it usually is close, but Star Wars is alot harder on the pocket book with their chase VR. And I dont think a Boba Fett from any set compares pricewise to anything released recently besides maybe the shadow dragon or  Black Dragon and Boba is unique and in every set. Now think of a Beholder shadow dragon or Black Dragon at VR and believe me the price of collecting would not be pretty at all. VR by itself to chase figures doubles the price.  Not to mention comparing star wars with ddm is the sculpts and painting of DDM is way better in all rarities. I think VR is just another way to suck the pocketbook. Yeah it is nice to say I pulled this VR or what not, but it rarely happens buying a few boosters. In fact I had a stretch of buying 15 sw boosters without a singe VR. Please no VR ever. | | | |

I agree. I do not need this challenge. It expensive and hard enough as it is to finish a set, I do not need it even harder.Â
