Would you like (as in currently) a final 3.5 ddm "RPG" set of minis? This hypothetical set would come out in conjunction with DDM2.0. It would contain passable 1.0 skirmish card stats, the figures would be targeted at a 3.5 audience.
Why do I ask? Just wondering if there is a strong enough of a market for wotc to continue to cater to 2 fronts. If there were enough interest to justify them releasing a final set (or more) to finish off what they started. For my own masochistic fantasies.
Look at it this way, it's another poll that can open up discussion until April. :)
Just keep in mind, you would be voting to purchase a set amongst what they are already releasing - so, it would be instead of or in addition to.
Here's a hypthetical set list that could be used:

| I think you should not equal D&D4.0 with DDM2.0. They are different games IMHO which are released simultaneously (even though related to each other).
I'm buying primarily for skirmish, and official skirmish will be DDM2.0 only from april onwards I guess. So if they included DDM2.0 skirmish stats, I'd gladly buy another D&D3.5 set. But I'll be buying D&D4.0 sets just as easy.
As you noted that they'd only have DDM1.0 skirmish stats, I voted no, because in a year that game is kind of obsolete (using tiles anyone?).

*sob* Me too.
~
I dont see that they can 'finnish' everything (doe that mean MM I, II or ?? ) in a set, and unless it was a good cash cow, it would be half hearted anyway. I've had enugh of not thought out stuff in last couple sets for skirmish as they seemed not too worried about balance/testing for 'old rules'.

Perhaps skirmish 1.0 cards was not the way to go... since you are correct, they would be DOA.

| I'm asuming the split of people going to 4th edition D&D compared to those staying true to 3.5 will be almost 50/50. Im actually upset that minis will now be based on 4th edition. Now we will probably never get small and huge Air, Water and Earth elementals..but will get archons and elemental titans. :( Im sure there are plenty of 3rd edition monsters we still need as minis that may never be made now because they dont appear in 4th edition. Same with PCs. We only have a singe female Half-Orc mini. No Gnome Bard. The rest of the Iconics. Now we never will. We will instead get tons of Teiflings and Dragonborn. Silly things like never getting the medium and large Kruthiks. What good are just hatchlings? Depressing.
As for skirmish...Since the cards mean nothing to me and I dont play skirmish. You make them 1.0 or 2.0 I dont care. Id prefer 2.0 cards for the skirmisher's sakes. | | Champion of the Skulk Vindicated Champion of the Twig Blight

| I voted yes - although I'd add the proviso that the miniatures should have the 3.5 design and look. Too many of the newer miniatures have a stupid cartoony/fairytale look.
Love the suggested list - although disappointed that the Bodak didn't get a mention...
I hate the way v3 has just been dropped with so many creatures missing, and I wish WotC would tell us more about which monsters have made the cut for v4. | | I do not think they will make 2.0 and 3.5 minis at one time even if people will demand it a lot.I strongly dislike the new "face" of main critters like ogres, green dragons,trolls,etc,etc...but if they kill 2.0 minis we will have only two choices: 1-to continue playing 2.0 and never go a tournament. 2-to play the new 2.0 and pray for they do not change the looks much more. I think I,ll go for 2.0 if the strategy and fun improves. If not, I will only buy the minis wich I like a lot in 2.0 and continue playing with my old orc champs warband | | LOVE THIS GIRL

Sorry about the bodak, but it is just a hypothetical set list. Aaand, since we don't know what is changing or being dropped, there is a good chance that the bodak will make it unscathed in to 4e.

| I think there should have been more comprehensive options. For example:
Would you buy 3.5 DDMs? Yes, and I do not want to buy 4.0 DDM Yes, but I am willing to buy 4.0-based DDM too. No, for reasons that are unrelated to it being 3.5. No, I only want to buy 4.0-based DDM now.
Would pretty much hit all of the possible stances. The poll options you chose are pretty narrow. What if you don't want it and it has nothing to do with how much DDM you currently have or your money situation. What if you wouldn't mind it, but aren't enthusiastic about getting it to the point where you are all like Hell Yeah! about it? (As that implies a certain level of hostility towards the 4e-based sets that may not be there.) | | I am not gone.

| Ah, well, I was pretty much only interested to see if wotc could get a sale, not the reasons as to why. But, the why's are of course interesting. I realize the "not enough cash" stems in to the why's, but I meant to imply the answer is "yes, if I had more money to buy more sets than what there would be normally per year".
I took the "hell ya" as enthusiastic excitement towards a revisted 3.5e set, not hostility towards 4e. Interesting how things are interpreted by different folks. | | Greyhaze's DDM Spoilers Champion of a Medium Dog & then a Darkenbeast , Raistlin Majere, Nightmare WDQ25/60, Warduke WD60/60, Anti-Champion of Guns, "Knight of Bugbears", and Joke Champion of Venger. | | Yeah, I see most of these pro-3.5e things being inherently anti-4.0. Why bring up another 3.5e set unless you dislike what is potentially going to be offered in any 4.0 sets that come out? I think that most of the pieces you mentioned would be great pieces, but I don't think they neccessarily require a 3.5e set to produce... | | I am not gone.

| | 3.5e feels like it was left unfinished. This is sort of chance to fill in those blanks in the old style. It IS inherently anti 4e, there's no real way of getting around that, BUT it would give 3.5 gamers a sense of completion and not feeling like they were thrown to the wolves off handedly. There will be people that will not be converting, and those people have some spending cash too. Since I don't know what is being kept the same for 4e, I filled out what I felt was left dangling for 3.5e monster-wise - however, it is just hypothetical. If wotc were to do a set, they would know exaclty what was changed and what was not and could make a better list than I could. The only ones that "require" a production are those that are definately changing, I'll mark those that we know of on the list with an asterix... | | Yeah, but if they made a 3.5 set with all of these monsters, they would have less tools to tempt people in 4e with sets with these minis. Also all of the ones on the list aren't definitely changing. I don't think we have heard any confirmation of the elementals going away (we just got a large fire elemental), the grey slaad, bearded devil, or the ogre barbarian (we just got an ogre). | | I am not gone. | |

| Posted By doubtofbuddha on 01/11/2008 9:16 AM Yeah, but if they made a 3.5 set with all of these monsters, they would have less tools to tempt people in 4e with sets with these minis. Also all of the ones on the list aren't definitely changing. I don't think we have heard any confirmation of the elementals going away (we just got a large fire elemental), the grey slaad, bearded devil, or the ogre barbarian (we just got an ogre). I don't see how if 4e is indeed good, how it's consumers wouldn't want to pick up the newest sets, and this particular set list could spread out over many many successive sets to follow to break up "reprints" from that set list.
The only traditional elementals we know we're getting are the larges, we were left with the impression that the others are being converted to other creatures like archons. The Slaad and Bearded Devil I'm not sure about, but with the changes to the outer planes it seems very reasonable to suspect them of getting a makeover. In regards to the Ogre, the 4e and 3.5s are VERY different. I put it on the list because out of all the reprints and special versions we got, the original basic 3.5 male ogre is a rare from the very first set. Even this basic 4e Ogre is a rare.
Garganutuan 3.5Â Green would be nice. Called Shots: Frost Giant in Dangerous Delves.
