I have to assume that DCI sanctioned tournaments for DDM 2.0 won't be available until after DDM 2.0 release date in late March or early April.Ā Has anyone heard of the DCI plans to sanction both types of tournaments or will we simply keep adding DDM tournaments like usual in the 2 formats we know will be available.Ā Extreme events will be unlikely since players will only have a handful of epic cards if any for DDM 2.0. Has anyone heard anything?

I haven't heard much. I expect that all sanctioned events (except for those specifically run by WotC, such as those at XP) will be run by the "first edition" rules (i.e. War Drums plus latest clarifications). I think that the Dungeons of Dread pre-release will probably be run using the new rules (which could be crazy for people not expecting it), and that the new rules will then apply to Constructed events after the official release of Dungeons of Dread. But, that's a guess. And, yeah, probably no 500-point games until the new Huge set comes out. Dave

Of rumors, chatter, and other thoughts: 1) We'll know more after XP.Ā 2) DoD2 (Dungeons of Dread) pre-release will likely be DDM 2. rules, and would have to be DCI sanctioned.Ā 3) DCI Floor rules likely to update any time between right after XP and Qualifier season.Ā 4) DCI Sanctioned tournaments can start likely after XP sometime.Ā 5) We'll all be trying out the new rules as soon as we get the cards at the end of this month.Ā 6) And I agree no Epic play likely until AtG (Against the Giants).Ā

What Vrecknidj said. 1.0 until the Dread pre-release. Our FLGS's will probably still run epic in the old format until the new Huge set.
