| One of the things I used to enjoy, as set lists were slowly revealed, was trying to guess what as-yet-unannounced minis might fit between the ones we already knew. This was sometimes possible, using the alignment and alphabetic constraints.
With the fussy ordering of the groupings currently used (Borderlands, then Borderlands/Civilization, then.... all of the above for good, then evil, then neither), this would look to be a bit harder.
Has anyone noticed, or read/heard much about how creatures are divided into these groupings?
For example, does a creature's 'organization' entry in the MM link strongly to whether it can be in a 'Civilization' grouping? (i.e. a creature that is mostly solitary wouldn't be in 'Civilization'.)
Some I find quite hard to follow - such as why vampire spawn are Civ/Underdark, whereas vampires are just Underdark. Outsiders also seem to fit a little awkwardly into the categories - but, admittedly, it may just be that I haven't grasped the idea yet. | | Champion of the Bodak.Knight of the Aboleth.Squire of Gnomes. | The vampire spawn might have been spawned in a city, hence the Civilization. Master vampires might prefer to live in rural areas, underground or hidden.
Just a guess.
I have no idea about the relationship between the four factions here and the information in the Monster Manual, and those who do know probably won't say until the books are released.

| | yeah, organizing by location is hard when you have 4 very vague locations (Borderlands? wtf?) | | | |
