Found this:

T3. Redirect targeting

Powers that can modify or nullify a target can be used.

i.e. Golden Wyvern Initiate’s Golden Wyvern power, which allows an Area or Close attack to

ignore one creature; or the Merchant Guard’s Bodyguard special power, which changes the target

of an attack. If the new target would not normally be a legal target for that attack, then for steps

B1 and B2, the new target is considered to be occupying the same space as the original target.

Follow up attacks are considered part of the initial attack, and may not be retargeted.

...from the errata.

I haven't seen it here yet.

is it a cleric, since it's an initiative, or can it be the flying creature?

Think there's mention of the Golden Wyvern Initiate in the rule book too.

http://ddmspoilers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1199

Oh it was in the XP document that this was mentioned so makes sense it was incorporated into the errata.  There was some insight offered into what the Golden Wyvern Initiate might be in that previous thread.

Yup.

I've been hoping to find out more about this thing.

I heard an explanation earlier when the fact it was in the rulebook was brought up. I believe one of the designers said it was a PC. The Golden Wyvern Initiate (golden wyvern being a type of initiate not a creature)

I believe I remember reading on enworld that the golden wyvern initiate is something like a wizard feat (it might be a feat for wizards, it might be a power for some wizard paragon path) that in DnD 4.0 lets the wizard  exclude a number of squares equal to their wisdom bonus from the area of effect of a spell. So we know that in Against the Giants, there will be a high level wizard figure that has a gnarly area attack or two and get ignore 1 target within it.

I' looking forward to something like this. He should have golden clothing and be civilized.

Good example. That would have been funny having a monk that was a lion or a falcon. Or a combo. Well, a dud rare, but funny.

He's an initiate, so he should be low-level.

So it wouldn't have changed his status much then.
