| I saw that World of Warcraft has a new miniatures game. Does any one here know if 1) have they been released yet? 2) are they compatible with DDM (scale, type of base used, etc) 3) are they nice-looking? | | | |

| This thread has some user info and pics:Scale is 48mm so approx half as big again as D&D 'should' be. So Orcs might be usable as orge sized foes.

| 1) no. 2) no. WoW's is larger. 3) yes, if you like WoW's art direction. | | Greyhaze's DDM Spoilers Champion of a Medium Dog & then a Darkenbeast , Raistlin Majere, Nightmare WDQ25/60, Warduke WD60/60, Anti-Champion of Guns, "Knight of Bugbears", and Joke Champion of Venger. | What an interesting decision. I wonder why they didn't want to make their figures in the same scale. I would have thought that selling some to D&D players who would use them for their own purposes might have been an advantage.
I'm sure the folks who made the decision thought this through, so, I'm curious about their results.

| | It's hard to get good detail at DDM scale, WoW would have wanted smoother detail and probably chose that scale for easier/better sculpting. | They also wanted them to be more substantial to justify the $5 a figure price tag. No, this isn't a supposition, they specifically stated that they wanted the figures to double as 'statues' or whathaveyou next to your computer monitor, and the high quality figures (with good paint jobs) were designed to maximize value.
Oh yes, forgot to mention. Some of the DDM folks last night were looking at the promo Gorebelly and say that he's the right size for an Enraged Orc (I think that was it). | | Gryfalia's Aerie Bloomington/Normal's only dedicated Game Store! www.gryfaliasaerie.com forums.gryfaliasaerie.com | |

| | While I bemoan the scale differences, and generally dislike the cartoony nature of WoW compared to other MMOs - the card art for the CCG and what we've seen so far of the CMG looks great. I have a feeling UDE will make it look very professional at the very least (production value will probibally be much much higher than that of DDM). | | | |

| I'm more interested to see how the game plays out rather than how it looks for my buying needs.
I'll try anything once... twice if I like it.
