| not much of a spoiler, but I have confirmation that epic will be 400 pt under the new rules, at least as far as what is used for the pre-release. And the full epic rules will be available by June 1st. If this is already posted elsewhere sorry!

So just produce figs under 400 points in ATG and let the limit be 500 and after seeing how it plays then add higher costed figs. | |

| see the thread for the poll on that, I gave a clue, but no one has made a correct or close guess yet. I'm just having some fun with everyone, though I am sure word will be out very quickly. the second word isn't giant though i will say that.

| Wow. I don't really care if the epic is 400 or 500, I don't think it's any worse just because it's fewer points. My guess is that the designers have worked out the minis, including the legions and legions of regular-cost minis, so that warbands can be challenging and fun, and that the epic pieces can be good without being so overpowering as to render the lower-cost minis useless.
Consider, for example, that six Mind Flayer Liches is 378 points. Three Dark Mantles and you're at 9 activations and close enough to 400 to give it a shot. Will +17 (20) be good enough against epic pieces? Hard to say. But, six shots at Confusion every round, plus slide and all that is pretty cool.
Eternal Blade x4, Warhorse x4 leaves 120 points and two activations (if epic is 10 activations, maybe it's only 8, I don't know).
Still, this is all cool. Good to know a little tid bit even if it's not huge (pun intended).

| | A lower point total doesn't "feel" as epic. Especially since we've been playing 1,000 point epic games under the old rules. These have been a lot more fun than the usual 500 pt epic games. | |

I think part of it is now, in Epic, I can't play any of those expensive garg Dragons I bought.

Now I realize this is hardly a definitive way to figure out how things might be going for Epic but it does give pause for thought. | |
