It's just not DDM.

Here's the image url incase my attachment doesn't work:

Since I don't play the skirmish game I collect other stuff too.  This is a good looking product:

A "red" dragon
An oni
A worm
A giant dragonfly type insect
An obligatory robot

For 20 bucks, it's not a bad buy.   Yes,  I will rebase (and probably repaint) but if you didn't want to or were just using them for roleplaying or proxies, they would work nicely.  I'm actually a pretty big fan of the sets now, partially because they use SO MUCH LESS PAIN THAT THE DETAILS AREN'T HIDDEN.  The Red Dragon is molded from red plastic, for example, so if you wanted to repaint and rebase, it would come out very nicely.  Also, the plastic used in heroscape won't disintegrate from nail polish remover, so if you did want a clean coat to work with, you'd be able to remove the spare paints and inks they use fairly easily.Â

Eh. Double post? Click spasm or dark spirits in the machine? Will our intrepid hero ever know before the dark powers of the mods find out? Tune in next time, brave explorers!

I was looking at that set and it's not bad. I just bought the smaller elf one with the pegasus rider and rebased them.

Yeah. I had almost picked that one up too. I just really liked the oni in this one.

Fixed it for ya....

And yah, for RPG purposes I have also picked up a fair amount of Heroscape figures, some are very nice....

Built the addition for this addiction, now on to the "gaming table" project....

Could you post pics for size comparison with DDM? I just saw heroscape page and i'm really interested, since i really dislike Against the Giants minis.

The hero scape man sized figures are about the same size as DDM man sized figures.  The nice thing about heroscape is the large nuimber of Asian themed figures-- samurai, ninjas, monks, etc.  Some of these smaller figures are probably more about the size of a DDM large-- I'm thinking now of some of the angels and demons that would probably look better on a large DDM type base. The large figures above and below vary in size.  Their dragons are less beefy than the DDM dragons of the same size, which I like.  The mounted figures are the same size.  However, all the mounted figures are on a weird "figure 8" type base that I cannot abide and they get rebased quickly.  If you have ever seen the old Mage knight mounted figs then you have a good idea what that base looks like.  The mounted elf mage on the pegasus is one of my favorite DDM figures and I hope to repaint it soon.  I'll post picks when I get it done.  Like I said before, they are sparing with the paint so they repaint nicely and the colors of the production models are not as muddy as DDM

Edited to add:

Here are some suggestions about using DDM with the heroscape hex terrain

The terrain is amazing, I bought 10 sets for my store just for that purpose. Love it! I'm glad that the just released sets have a new set of terrain, we needed more...
