The 6 armed drow is prolly some sort of Lolth blessed thing, giving it 8 limbs like a spider. As for the dragon, I figure it's Lead, Bromine or whatever other random element it was that came back with 4e. | | This new learning amazes me Sir Bedevere. A Mind Flayer Weapons Master just doesn't fit the spirit of the creature. Not in the way I've came to picture them anyway.

Yeah that is dissapointing. One or two per set, sure, but if your count is right that is just lazy. And in most cases the resulpts (from what I have seen or heard) are worse the second time around. I hope Demonweb doesn't have that many. | | Completed trades: 15 Pending Trades: 0 Trade feedback thread: http://maxminis.com/Forums/tabid/104/forumid/53/postid/807160/view/topic/Default.aspx

| To be fair, aren't a lot of the monsters they rehashed from older sets that new collectors like myself wouldn't necessarily find easily? Old Rares are a lot harder to snag than New Rares, so it makes sense for some Iconic monsters. I'm not a fan of rehashed minis, but, well, yeah. Complaining about rehashes from sets as old as Archfiends or Giants of Legend is just silly...from what I've seen the majority of players who were playing then are different folks now. ... :sigh:
I'm biased. I'd rather get a 4th edition monster/creature now rather than wait until they restat it for a set that's 7th in line to be restat'd and still no date for that is set.

Here are the minis I counted (plus an addition or two) as rescultps (which do vary in price/availability and may have a very reasobable proxy for RPG use):
Boneclaw Impaler (Boneclaw) Blazing Skeleton (Burning Skeleton) Cave Bear (Celestial Black Bear) Elf Arcane Archer (Arcane Archer, Half-Elf Bow Initiate, almost any elf with a bow not in armor) Efreeti Flamestrider (Efreeti) Elder Red Dragon (Huge Red Dragon) Fire Giant Raider (Fire Giant) Furious Owlbear (Owlbear, Owlbear Rager) Goblin Runner (Goblin Skirmisher, Goblin Picador) Lizardfolk Raider (Lizardfolk, Darktalon Champion) Ochre Jelly (Ochre Jelly) Orc Zombie (Horde Zombie) Roper (Roper) Ravenous Dire Rat (Dire Dart, Diseased Dire Rat, Rat Swarm) Voracious Ice Devil (Ice Devil) Xorn Ravager (Xorn)

| That's a nice list and good to actually see. A few of those rehashings do piss me off....The Goblin Runner is like the Goblin Picador (though I've never seen/heard of a Goblin Skirmisher) and the Lizardfolk did get a pretty good common fairly recently. I still say that most of those are pretty dang old by 2.0 player standards...new players might not want to go to secondary markets and have to print their own cards at home to use some classic monsters, or creatures the 4th edition books hype through some hardcore artwork (boneclaw, for instance). But you're right. Some of those are unnecessary.
You know what I'm surprised they didn't rehash? Those Kruthik things from the Miniature Manual. In the 4th edition MM they got two full pages of stats and lore, which is one more than beholders got. And they kruthik things they did release are older than some of the stuff they rehashed. (Owlbear, I'm looking at you.)
