The D&D Miniatures Game rules have been updated to facilitate faster, exciting gameplay. In addition, this new starter features blister packaging that showcases all five miniatures in the set. Each starter contains:

Even moneys on it being an elf with a bow or an elf in chainmail wielding a longsword.
Although it would be a pleasent suprise if it turned out to be a gnome or half-orc druid. It would be nice if the Starter Set would have PC's from the Player's Handbook that is released the exact same day.
I also noticed that Dungeon Delve is "Designed to use existing D&D Dungeon Tiles and D&D Miniatures." Nice sea change if that turns out to be the case. People have been asking for adventures that can be covered entirely by D & D minis since Harbinger.

| I would put my money on the Woodland Defender being another female druid piece (think Warden of the Wood), slated to feature the druids in the PHB2.

| the woodland defender probably wont be a druid because they wont have 2 out of the 3 pc minis in the starter set being spell casters.
I thing its either a human or elf ranger. | |

Do you think the troll shown on the DDM Seminar slide is the Troll King?
According to Derry's writeup, Peter said that the pictures shown on that slide were for creatures in Feywild, but the 2009 starter will be coming out at the same time. |

| | In 4th edition the Fighter and Paladin class are referred to as having the party role of "defender." This leads me to believe that the Woodland Defender will be an Elf Fighter, or possiby an Elf Paladin (although the fighter seems more likely). | |
