| This thread will be linked to in the "I would like a WotC response" thread. When this thread becomes long and needs to be refreshed, we simple have to create a new one and lock this one ... even if this doesn't get touched for a week or so, it will be easy to everybody to find it from the stickied thread above. So much easiery then constantly stickying and unstickying threads! [:)]
So, without further ado, this thread is now open for serious questions directed toward our WotC Reps! | | | |

| I have a serious question.
How many maps are in the works for 2006?
I know we have already seen the 4 in Wardrums as well as the previous Fantastic Locations and Dragon Magazine that are out. We also know that there are 2 Fantastic Locations due out this summer and a map with each Iconic dragon, but I was curious if we would be seeing any more this year.

Different versions of these same questions have been asked quite a bit since the "I have a question for WotC" thread started. I am very curious to hear an answer on this soon--even if the answer is something like, "We talked about the idea in a meeting today and the feeling was..."
I have a second question. We are consolidating questions for WotC here. Is there a place on maxminis that we will be able to find the answers? (Even if it is a post from Shoe, Ian, Lidda, etc. linking to a thread actually posted on WotC boards with the answer?) | | "Look to God and live." Actually, aboleths have a landspeed and are amphibious. However, my suggestion was to include them in a scenario pack with a special map and rules (similar to the recent AT-ST pack) where battling them would make more sense than sticking one in the field of ruin. Hopefullyy this better clarifies exactly what type of product I was suggesting. | | Completed trades: Zarnof, Salmander, Pigsnot, qillan_dvra, SilgentG, Ironfist Boulderbender, robdaman.

I am expecting this (and future incarnations of this) thread to be an informal Q&A type of deal more like a standard discussion thread. I will lock the thread when it gets long or *way* off topic, and start a new one. By keep links to each one in the sticky thread about this, we will have a way to keep track of archived materials as they fall off the front page. | | | |

| I think this question is more geared to LurkingLidda (as least according to Shoe) but here goes:
My Question:
I'm currently seeking information on an unreleased promotional figure, the Mialee (DVD1), that was to promote the release of the Scrouge of Worlds DVD. Why was the figure never released?
--------------------------------------------------------------------- Shoe's Response (via email):
Our Brand Team, coordinating with R&D (and Organized Play when appropriate) is responsible for any promotional activity related to DDM - including promo minis. L. Foster (posting as lurkinglidda) is our current Brand Manager. I'm not sure about the details surrounding the scourge of worlds promo mini, since it was at the outset of DDM and prior to my time here. ---------------------------------------------------------------------
Soooo, since LurkingLidda doesn't have an email address posted (by design no doubt) [:D], I'm posting it here... | | Email Offers | Trade History Champion of the Frost Giant Jarl "Pray that you meet death standing on your feet, rather than on your knees." | |

| Ian, there are at least two venues holding qualifiers that are announcing the following prizes:
"The top 4 players receive an invitation to compete in the 2006 Dungeons & Dragons® Miniatures Gen Con Indy Championship held during Gen Con Indy, August 12-13 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The winner of each Qualifier receives a D&D® Miniatures Constructed Championship Rewards package* and a 4-day pass to Gen Con Indy
Top finishers win boosters of the most recent D&D® Miniatures expansion.
The 2006 Dungeons and Dragons® Miniatures Constructed Championship Rewards Package includes a round-trip, coach airfare for the winner from the major airport nearest the winner’s home to Indianapolis, Indiana to attend the Dungeons and Dragons® Miniatures Constructed Championship on August 12-13, 2006."
I have two questions:
1. Are the dates for the championship listed in this announcement correct?
2. Are the prizes listed in this announcement correct?
I had understood from previous communication that the championship would be held on August 11 and 13. Also, I had understood that the top four at a qualifier would receive a four-day pass to Gen Con. I'd like to confirm either way. | | | |

| I think that this has somewhat been asked to a degree, but I don't remember. And I would assume this question is directed more towards Shoe.
How are the non-set themed minis determined for an expansion. Is it by paint pallete? Just pulling minis at random from a hat? Is there an interview process [:P]? Or do all the minis in a set have some underlying theme to them that even we aren't aware of.

Like Shoe, I was not working on DDM at the time the Mialee promo fig was produced. Actually, that's a lie. I was working in the production department on DDM at them time (and enjoyed being part of the creative process for her!) The then-brand manager is currently out of the office so I cannot get an answer for you for a few more days. I didn't want to leave you hanging though. I'll post again late next week when I know the low down.
Also, I'm keeping track of all of your set design and production questions in order to make sure the articles are comprehensive to your needs. I hope to post the first one to the WotC website in late April.

| I asked this in another thread, but this thread is probably the best place to ask.
I am really liking Red Hand of Doom. I want to know if there are other similar sized adventures in the works that aren't Eberron specific. If so, are they for higher level than RHoD, lower, or about the same?
I am not necessarily asking for names of adventures. I am asking more to see if there are other big adventures to look forward to in the coming months.
EDIT--I wasn't intending to ask anything causing a breech in non-disclosure agreements. I was just excited about the topic and don't have an exact understanding of how the NDA works. If I get carried away by asking for more information than you are allowed to give, please respond with something like--Sorry, I can't address that question. | Let's see what we've got here...
quote: Originally posted by striderlotr How many maps are in the works for 2006?
Many. Two new Fantastic Locations products are on the announced schedule, which would be 6 total more maps. While I can't comment on unannounced products, there's a good chance you'll see more maps. After all - I want a map where the trog captain really shines!
quote: Originally posted by Zaukrie Can we start getting design and other articles from the designers on the WotC site?
Yes. Many of the ideas already mentioned are good ones. The key is finding time to produce the content. Matt and I have full workloads, and webwork typically falls in the "extra work" category. I'll keep doing the previews (to start in a couple weeks), but maybe we can throw in a few more things.
quote: Originally posted by qstor I heard that the designers of the minis game had trouble of coming up with minis game stats for the rust monster?
Stats for the rust monster are pretty easy, actually... This is one of those questions, along with the "how are minis chosen" question, below, that has a more complex answer. I'll see if we can't get some sort of article put together to address this. The question you must first ask yourself is: who gets to have fun when the rust monster is put on the table?
quote: Originally posted by Bert under the Bridge Are there going to be low point uniques again?
Uniques are an interesting animal. For the most part, we'd like our uniques to be something cool from our novels or classic adventures. In the skirmish game, early uniques typically got a "discount" because we'd know you'd only have one, and allowed us to create abilities that could be restricted due to the unique status. But at the same time, uniques in the common or uncommon slot sort of suck, because you end up with many but can only ever use one. Uniques work best as rares, and as rares, will likely be well into the double-digit point costs.
quote: Originally posted by Janos M ...if the huges in WotDQ get only epic cards, or "normal" ones, too?
The Huges in Dairy Queen will get only one card. They are all epic, and have no "jr." version.

Many factors, really. Something that would make a good article (or two). Everything from what products can we support to what we think might be cool.

Holiday Moderator Note: This is rather important, guys. Shoe and our other friends from Wizards can't actually talk about any products not yet announced in the catalogue (online or the print Wizards one). Indeed, even if Amazon has it, if it isn't in the Wizards catalogue, they're still bound massively by NDAs.
Even a question like "do you have more adventures planned?" can't really be answered except by pointing to the catalogue. Believe me, I tried it with Charles Ryan enough. [)]
