Last week, we showed you one of the player character miniatures available in Against the Giants. This week, you'll see two more, one uncommon and one rare.
Dragonborn Myrmidon
As one of the core races for the 4th Edition of Dungeons & Dragons, dragonborn certainly need representation in plastic. The Dragonborn Myrmidon is a double-whammy of newness -- not only is he a new race, but he is also a member of a new class, the Warlord.
This guy has one of the signature abilities of dragonborn -- an attack with dragon's breath. The Dragonborn Myrmidon has cold breath, but other dragonborn can have any type of damage available to dragons -- acid, poison, fire, etc. Its other single-use ability, Hammer and Anvil, is a warlord's 1st-level encounter exploit. If you hit your target with this attack, you give an ally the opportunity to make an attack. The warlord may become a flanking rogue's best friend.
Feybound Halfling
Now we jump from the tallest PC race in the new Player's Handbook to the shortest. I'm quite fond of this little guy, because this mace-wielding, fey-pact warlock is currently moonlighting as my wand-wielding wizard in a Thursday evening D&D game.
Like the Dragonborn Myrmidon, the Feybound Halfling's miniature stats draw upon the abilities that the character would have in the RPG. In this case, it duplicates the Otherwind Stride encounter spell, which is a damaging close attack that additionally teleports the caster a short distance away. Next week, we look at two miniatures that are somehow related to one of the creatures shown in this preview.

| Well, nothing to excite me this week. I have no use for dragonborn in my rpg. The halfling will make an ok cleric, but he's somewhat lackluster in appearance. From the teaser, I guess next week we'll see the huge white and some other draconic creature.

| Meh. Dragonborn is a $3, 4 color rare. No thanks. Halfling looks to be a step down from the paint of last set's PC minis, plus we already recently got a halfling in robes. So far, this set looks like another easy on the pocketbook one. Even counting the spoiler pics, I only want one mini so far and it's a Med. | Admittedly, I am also not too horribly excited so far. I don't usually care for human/elf/dwarf/halfling/insert-PC-race-here type minis a whole lot simply cause I have a whole box full of them and our RPG group tends to buy custom metal minis for their PCs anyways. Minis like the Dwarf Warsword are nice when they break from the traditional stereotypical racial armor/weapons but I'd rather see monsters in the previews. Dragonborn might make a good substitution for a Draconian, but as a RARE? I really don't see myself or anyone in my group playing one so it is a wasted booster if I pull one.

| Considering the new 4E races, I'm mildly excited about the Dragonborn, just cause I'll need to fill out some options. It's a one or two-of, stats don't look b0nz0r either.
Halfling, meh, new sculpt, but nothing great for me. Looking like a 1.5 case set for me, so far.

| I'd count the dragonborn as a plus if I got it in a booster. But not good enought to buy one at singles prices. Hammer & Anvil; Might have a realy strong combo in Epic play...???

| I won't be using Dragonborn as a race (or Tieflings) in my rpg game, so this mini isn't going to be of great use. But, It can be used down the road in some sort of vs Tiamat sort of storyline, so I'd give it a 6/10 just for that reason.
The halfling is pretty ugly, but a useable mini I'm sure. I'll give it a 6/10 as well.
Including the spoilers the set isn't looking too good yet. Still plenty of time to get it right though. | | Champion of the Aspect of Gruumsh Nemesis of Gnomes and Warforged

The Halfling is also very distinguishable from other Halflings, what with its green apparel.

| dragonborn sculpt looks nice IMHO...hammer and anvil is big (wulfgar now gets 3 attacks on the round of engagement), launch is a nice advantage, draconic fury is icing on the cake, and auto Dmg cone!!! Nice stats.
