I'm really not sure about this analysis. In ten sets, 166 of the list have been crossed off and 148 remain. Another two knowns for Blood War have also been crossed off, taking these numbers to 168 and 146. (Apologies for any mistakes I may have made in arithmetic.)

This might make it seem as though another 10 sets might finish the job. Dig a little deeper and you see that a fairly pathetic 8 have been crossed off in WotDQ (Deinonychus, Small Black Dragon, Large Green Dragon, Small Copper Dragon, Small Fire Elemental, Golden Protector, Nightmare, Stirge) I believe. If that is the new 'norm', then it'll take another 18 sets to cross everything off the list [)].

I'll add two things to that analysis. Some people are bound to feel that producing everything on the list isn't necessary or desirable anyway. (I am not one of those people, though[:D].) As others have pointed out, the animals and vermin are not on the list - and the situation is massively worse there (no beetles, centipedes, small dogs, etc.)

They LOOK exactly the same though, thus no need for a different figure. You may as well request a separate figure for an orc with an axe who enjoys playing scrabble and his identical twin who hates scrabble. If theres no visual difference, they can be covered by the same figure.

I decided to strike Lions because we have Dire Lions (etc) because I have to draw a line somewhere when it comes to figure purity. Otherwise, our Fiendish Giant Praying Mantis wouldn't count as a Giant Praying Mantis, since the mantis in the MM1 doesn't have a template applied to it in the book.
