But, worry not! Get creative! Sharpies come in a wide range of colours!
Hmm, hadn't thought about that. Maybe I'll experiment on some wrackspawn or ibixians. Well, you could always do a Cyber-Hyena (as crazed as it sounds, I would really like to see someone's interpretation of this)...

| Shottglazz,
Sorry I missed your question in IM, but here's your answer:
If you cannot get a hold of elf_ranger, it goes to kestral.ca.
If you cannot get a response from kestral.ca, it should go to Rakhamon.
But the problem is that you didn't sign up for overseas shipping, and obviously Rakhamon is very overseas.Â
My solution, is that if we can't get a hold of either elf_ranger or kestral.ca withing a week, we will move up Auric (assuming that shipping to the US is not a problem).
Otherwise, you will need to ship back to me, then I will ship to Rakhamon.

A voucher would help since I don't know what the general feel is for Gleemax credits are here and since you only have had three trades, all in 2006, it would be a good idea if you can.
Fortunately there is still time to sign up.

| We have a problem....
I went to the post office today to ship the MMT on to its next destination -- and I can't afford to send it on to its supposed next recipient. Minimum postage to Sweden for this package is $77. And that's for surface shipping with no time guarantee! To guarantee 6 day shipping, it's $139. As much as I want to support the maxminis community, that's way outside my comfort zone. I simply can't justify paying that kind of money for the privilege of trading for $20 (at most) worth of goods. (For those who want to check shipping costs, the parcel is 15.5 x 11 x 7 inches, and weighs 6.7 kg (14.8 pounds).)
So, what to do?
A couple of possibilities: Option 1: I split up the parcel and send only the lighter stuff on internationally (ie. not most of the books) and send the rest to someone else in the MMT who is on the North American continent. However, I don't think this is really that fair to the international participants. Option 2: I send the parcel on to someone else on the list who is in the US, who is willing to send it on to Sweden. From what I can determine, a USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate Box shipment to Sweden is $37, less than half of the shipping from Canada. (And, would still cost me $27-40 to send it to the States, depending on delivery options.)
Please give me your opinions or suggestions on how we can keep this trade going.
I also propose that part of the international trade (ie. non-North American) portion of trade negotiations include each side acknowledging that they have researched the costs for the size of the parcel that may be coming their way.
Rakhamon: I'm really sorry about this. While this is being sorted out, please look into how much it would cost to send a parcel of this size to Australia from Sweden!

| Posted By Qucalion of Celene on 04/18/2008 1:23 PM How about sending the list of goodies to Rakhamon though e-mail and then he can pick out which ones he wants, then when he gets it he can add whatever, and send it to the next person on the list. Then you can send the remainder to the next person. Then when that person recieves both parts, then send it on.
I think this is likely the best solution.

| That might work, except that the next three are all international, and it's even more expensive to Australia & New Zealand! So...
Option 3: What about I send Rakhamon the list, and he chooses what he likes. And then we both send to someone in the US, who sends the compiled list to Bert the Troll (Aus), who again chooses a few. Both then send on to another person in the US, who repeats the process once more with Zardnaar. It might not be ideal, but it does ensure that noboby else gets stuck with $40+ shipping charges. (A tiny parcel to Sweden still costs me $13, and the remainder is at least $27. But while $40 is painful, it's an acceptable charge.)
It's a possibility at least. Any other ideas/opinions?

Other than that, I think your Option 2 would probably work best. Anyone want to volunteer? I've had some spectacular trouble logging on to the site for some time, but kestrel sent me an email that explained the situation.
If possible I'd like to go with this solution. It's not like it affects what the stash in the box is, really, and I'm not going to spill the beans to anyone else (so don't bother trying, you weasels!)
Best wishes; Rak

| I'm one of the next few US recipients- what if we also sought to reduce the overall weight of the box by posting a list of the books? Then all remaining recipients could say "I want that one/two books. Ship those out to get the weight down. Anyone who accepts a book that way should send the shipper something for the cost/effort also. Maybe using Paypal, as these are "real-world" costs.
As far as I am concerned, I can accept partial box from two locations (per Kestral's email to me and others last night.)
I have not yet determined shipping overseas, as I would need final weight, etc. Likely, though, we'd need to do something similar to what we are doing for the US-to-Sweden trade.
Tough economics...
Let me know how I can help. Email me directly, as I do not follow the trade posts online.
Thanks for the heads up!

| I've sent out messages to the next four on the list in the US but haven't received any reply (other than dm5's post above). I'll try them again -- it might have been the maxminis email that confused the reply address.
I've taken pics of all the contents and I'll send the list on to Rak, but until I hear back from some of the next people on the list, I'm not sure where to send the majority of the box...
