| As always look at how many stores have them in stock. Supply and demand. The Wraith just plumeted in value from last month, but I believe it is entirely because the one store that had them in stock (and asked $40+ for it) is now out and another shop (perhaps one of the new ones) had it listed for $20+ bucks.
Also look at the Std Deviation. For example the Guath has a SD of almost $10 and 4 stores offering it. I expect we had one REAL high price being asked (probably Toy-Wiz), and three under $20 prices.
As for the Orcs. Supply and demand. Of the old Harb Orcs, only a couple of stores have them for sale and they are asking some pretty steep prices for those old commons and uncommons.
You can almost ALWAYS find the same minis cheaper here on the marketplace threads or EBAY. Treat these dollars as a relative measure of marketability. The Stores are in it to make money and will not price something higher than they think they can sell it for in a reasonable period of time.

Speaking of which, I have all the trading data going back to September. It would be interesting to watch the dips and rises of the individual pieces, to see where the break occurs when the piece's value begins to just rise. I'm sure there are still some Harbinger pieces that have gone down a little, or that will go down a little, but the Harbinger and Archfiends sets, as a whole, have almost across-the-board had a substantial increase lately.
Dragoneye might start doing this, but I'd think it wouldn't happen until about May. I still see a LOT of Dragoneye pieces for sale on Ebay at bargain prices.

| The problem with DragonEye is the number of figures (especially rares) that no one seems to want. Buy a blind booster and get another LFM or Silver Sorc? Too many bleh rares from a collecting standpoint. Also many of the other minis are just not that exciting. I did buy up a bunch of boosters a while back, but it was at about $5 a shot or about 1/2 price. There are only 3 1/2 rares that have held any significant value in the secondary market, LRD, Med Black, Spider and to some extent the Brass Dragon (my 1/2). The Thayan knight was hot for a few months but can be had cheap now.
As for old data I have it all and sometimes plot out trends and such, but there is not easy way to post a trend plot on these boards, so have not done so yet.
As for the Special and Promo figures, Chaotic Good keeps a good list on his website and has a link to it in his sig. I have a real good idea of there worth since I follow those auctions a lot, but pricing them on EBAY is sometimes harder. You can also not get them on demand, which is a key component of this listing. This reflects the pricing of items which stores have in stock and are willing to sell if you went to them the day I compile the listing. You cannot just go to EBAY and buy a MINA for $30, even if that was the average price, unless someone has taken it upon themselves to offer one up for sale that week. So it would be comparing prices of two rather different types of things. | | Built the addition for this addiction, now on to the "gaming table" project.... http://www.maxminis.com/hw_list.asp?user=Zenako last updated 29 May 2006 Set Status: in a nutshell = all of all In Process trades 0), (Sig last updated 05/29/06) 300 plus Completed Trades -

It is interesting... Looking at the sales from my site... Dragoneye sells second only to Harbinger for D&D Minis sales during the last 45 days...
It seems like there are quite a few good figures for RPG purposes... | | *** www.mouzergames.com ****

| | I agree that there are some of the commons that are attractive as singles (elf Spearguard, the Draconians and some of the lesser humanoids). But those are not valuable enough (and are easy enough to still find) to justify the purchase of full price boosters. Watch the selling price of full sets. DragonEye is by far the lowest priced of the sets to date. I have the second most total minis from that set (over 2000). So I am not surprised that you get volumn of sales, but I would be surprised if the dollar value of the sales for the different sets kept DragonEye in second place.

| Well, I look at things from a Margin perspective... (Selling Price - Cost)/Selling Cost ... For D&D Minis, my margin follows age... The older the set is, the better the margins... So right now, it is Harbinger followed by Dragoneye... (note: I do not have any Archfiends because no distributors have them and they are too expensive on eBay)
This has not been true with Star Wars Minis or Mechwarrior...
It will be interesting to see what happens when GoL is factory sold out... | | *** www.mouzergames.com ****

Zenako,
Is there a chance that you could lock the next pricing trends so if we want to print it and not have to sit and watch to cancel printing when the replys come up?
Cg... CG, how to print only part of a thread:
1) Before you go to print, use your mouse to highlight just the part you want to print (point mouse to end of Zenako's list, hold down left mouse button, and move mouse upward, and let go of the mouse button at the top of Zenako's list) 2) Click FILE then PRINT from the menu at the top of the screen(don't click the "printer icon"). 3) The printer "dialog box" opens up - in the lower left, click the radio button to choose "Selection".
It should only print the area you highlighted with your mouse, leaving the replies as well as the extraneous graphics off. | | There are 10 kinds of people in the world; those who understand binary, and those who don't. Reference Thread, H/W List, Champion of the Catoblepas

Zenako, it is possible to add the promo figs Mina, Guen, and MSD to your price list? Maybe getting your data from average Ebay prices?... NIXLORD, on EBay when you're logged in, on the left navbar is a choice to show "Completed Auctions". When you are looking for a specific mini, this gives you a list to scan through - you can very quickly see what the minimum and typical "base price + S/H" total is.
For EBay-only figures, this is more telling than a list of data that is perhaps weeks old. | | There are 10 kinds of people in the world; those who understand binary, and those who don't. Reference Thread, H/W List, Champion of the Catoblepas

I think that the LRD is still valued by enough players to warrant sales of Dragoneye. The Black Dragon is also extremely costly (for me, anyway, given its value as a skirmish piece, and that there's one available in the basic set). I don't know if the Black Dragon is driving much of the Dragoneye market, but it could be.

One other reason sales might be brisk, in brick-and-mortar stores, is that they're sitting on the shelves and the Harbinger and Archfiends aren't.

| He's probably waiting for everyone to get enough of the minis, and also for the prices to stop being so crazy. Some people are charging $40-60 for a Beholder, and I seriously doubt (and hope!) that that price will be maintained. It's just more work for him to try and price things when the market is very volatile, and I'd rather have the prices that are stable rather than basing my trade on something that is going up or down $10 every week.
My two cents, anyway. | | Completed Trades (22): Brazenwood, WakeXX, Bonepinhimer, Astroliar, kestrel.ca x2, Crystal King, Drakkengi, Ckissee, dj-chuckles, amnuxoll, avrivah, Wayne, agcooper1, crisisman, brucemc, arbados, carpbrain, tirwin, blackblood, unearthed arcana, ggowan

| Slow down guys. He works, his house is being remodled, he has children, he has to trade minis and he is married!!
Give him a break. Look on the web and find a couple stores add up the prices divide the total with the number of stores and you should have a rough value.
So Zenako, have time for #10 DK comes Friday :)
