When is suspicion of a scam strong enough to be valid to post in warning to others here?
I feel I may have prevented something but as I had nothing real to post about I didn't. Just curious what people's thoughts are concerning such posts and if there are any alternatives to posting a warning.
That's a tough one. If you're not sure it was a scam or not, You really can't post anything about it. Not sure exactly what the offer was, but alot of times if the offer's to good to be true, It usually is. However, there have been times where the offer was a valid one.

Well basically there was nothing in material, but in emails and just checking into other posts and such I hit two red flags to trades with a fair amount of circumstantial stuff. It was enough to make me sure there was more to it, but there was nothing really to post as indisputable evidence.
I know better than to make accusations without being involved in an incident to bring up but like people posting comments on an overpriced lot I could have given indication of some sort. | |

| As you said posting about is likely to be a bad idea. However you might want to email other people who are dealing with your suspicious trader. I wouldn't make accusations but just warn them of your concerns. If you are wrong there should be no harm done. If you are right they might be a bit more careful and avoid getting scammed.

| Well in this instance it is too late in the game to help. But really I just held back because I was not directly involved. I guess its like a premonition of a plane crash... Announce it and you are the freak until proven right and then its too late.
I do feel I could have given discreet comment towards red flags but again its that line of when to act and how much indication is enough.
Overall I would have liked to help but looking back I couldn't really have done anything without real evidence. | |
