| I also have a problem trade with Ironfist boulderbender. I sent him close to $200 worth of minis 1X Drizzt, 2X Orc Champions, 4 Blood Ghost Berzerkers on Wednesday 4/19. We agreed to ship simultaneously, but he did not. He sent me a bunch of emails up to the 4/23 (sunday) explaining why (each day with a new promise of sending out his half of the trade on the day). I haven't heard from him for 5 days despite numerous emails from me.
I'm relatively new to trading and this kind of thing really puts a damper on me wanting to trade anymore.
Please get back to soon Allen.
For now, I will list our trade in the disputed thread, but will delete it as soon as you get back to me.

I too have a trade pending with Ironfist. It's been 12 days (as of 04/29) since he received my shipment (I sent first ) and I haven't ahd an email or anything from him. I sent him around $400 in figs (Ogres, Umber Hulk, Drow Cleric and lots more). Hopefully, he'll own up and make good on these trades. I'm trying to be optimistic....

I don't care what kind of excuse you've got (he claimed starting a new job), that is some serious cash.
Does anyone know what can be done about this?
The WOTC boards include this link which allows people to report mail fraud.

If enough of us used that would that get us anywhere?
I'm considering contacting the local poice in Twin Falls, Idaho (where he lives) and informing them of the situation. What do people think?

| Man! This guy has really screwed a lot of us, and still has sixty something trades listed and 16 as in progress!!
Sam, someone (Username of Yare I believe) also mentioned filing for mail fraud, in ironfist's thread about being patient with him. He was giving ironfist until may 6th to make good or he is filing. I'm thinking we are all going to have to file as well. Honestly, part of me wants to fly out to twin falls and knock on his door and get back the stuff I sent him. The only things that are keeping me somewhat calm is that it looks like he hasn't been on maxminis since the 24th of April (when I checked this morning) and that the people who had problems with him in the past said that he made good eventually and even gave them extra 'apology' minis as a sign of good faith. So, I'll probably hold out another couple of days before filing for mail fraud. | | | |

Allen,
It is now April 30th and no one on maxminis has heard from you in a while. We are all getting extremely concerned (and angry) about the lack of communication and your failure to keep up your end of the trades. I think you better contact everyone you have trades with immediately and let us know what is going on, before it comes down to people taking legal action against you(which is currently being discussed on the message boards). If you do e-mail me, I will post it to message boards as soon as I get it, so that people know you are still communicating with the people you are trading with. If I do not hear from you in the next few days, I will be forced to take action, like several others with whom you have open trades with.

I would support a group effort to file charges. I had a crazy thought to take out an ad in his local paper stating that he has done us wrong. There is a liquor store near my cousin's house that posts bad check writers on their sign. Similar principle. Embarrass them into making good.

He says that he will be shipping by Thursday of this week and I advised that he post the DC#s on the boards to show everyone that he is making good. I believe he is e-mailing everyone else as well. So, hopefully this will all work out and we won't need to file any sort of charges or anything. If we were, I believe a group effort would be best and I will talk to a friend from my old job (used to manage the network at a law firm) about what to do if it comes to that. Communication is the key here and as long as he makes good I think we'll be able to chalk up as a learning experience and, I for one, will not be trading with anyone who has disputed trades -past or present. | | | |

He never sent and does not respond to his emails. It has been nearly 3 weeks now and I have not heard anything from him. I'm not too upset, because I did not lose any minis as I never received from him, but I definitely consider this a trade gone bad. | |

Calling it a "bad trade" is up to you. But I would call it a near miss or a spoiled trade, when compared to the others that are in more of a purgatory type trade. This illistratues the good thing about sending first in situations....

I do consider this a disputed trade. If addresses are exchanged and a deal is agreed upon, failing to send is grounds for a dispute. We've had other traders report this sort of behavior in the past. | |

| I have a disputed trade with Tactician.
On February 27, I agreed to buy 9 Orc Warriors and 8 Orc Spearfighters from him for about $50 (I know, but whatcha gonna do). I mailed him a money order the next day.
On March 22, I still hadn't received my Orcs or heard from Tactician. I emailed him to let him know I was moving in a week, and had the minis been sent? His response was "yes they were. Damn I hope they get there before you move".
On April 13, I still had no minis and no word. I emailed Tactician asking for my minis or my money back. His response: "I told you I would send another package but you didn't send me your new address". This is a flat out lie. I sent him my new address anyway, as I really wanted those Orcs.
Since then, I've heard nothing and had no package or money returned. On May 1, I let him know that I wanted a response or else I'd be taking our dispute to the maxminis boards. Still no answer.
This is the first I've heard of anyone having a dispute with Tactician, and I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt, but come on. It's been over 2 months since the trade was first agreed to. This needs to be resolved quickly.

so beware of a trader that just joined or will join in the next couple days that lives in the trader's bermuda triangle.
i recieved an email from Cha0tic Go0f on Oct13/05 and on Oct24/05 Wraith joined
i recieved an email from Cha0tic Go0f on Jan30/06 and on Jan20/06 Tactician joined
it seems to me that Cha0tic go0d gets internet access, gets everybodies guard down by random emails of empty promises, the first time he waited to join, the next time he pre-joins and the racks up numerous posts and starts heavy trading to get so he doesn't have to send first, then does several trades for multiple valuable rares then he's gone.
all three Bad traders are from Syracuse and 2 live within blocks of each other... on that note anybody have that google earth picture with the addresses plotted out? i would like a copy... anybody have tacticians addres to add to it?
hate me for it but Syracuse gets no trades from this guy

| | I'm going to report a trade with Puffer as a problem trade for now. We agreed to a trade a couple of months ago on March 9th (I still have all the emails). There were problems right from the beginning with this trade when I sent him an email to tell him I'd shipped my side, he got back saying that he was going to wait until my end got to him before he would send his end. This was not agreed upon during the trade, he decided to tell me after I had already sent. After a few more emails back and forth of me pointing out how lame it was that he changed the conditoins of the trade after it was agreed upon, I told him to just send it ASAP. After not hearing from him for a month or so, I wrote him and he said he "forgot" about the trade and would get right on it. How you forget about a trade when you recieve a package in the mail in beyond me, but that's another issue. The bottom line is its now been over two months and I still haven't received a package from Puffer. The entire process of trading with him has been frustrating. Just thought I'd let you guys know. | |

| Over two months ago I agreed to buy a collection of minis from Mister Unfortunate. I sent a money order for $425.00 to him, which he received as I had delivery confirmation. He stated he sent, then claimed the post office returned it, then claimed to send again, but to this day have never received, and now he is failing to respond to e-mails or any inquiries.
