| | Unless you find crazy minis buyer with lots-o-monAY to spend I would suggest seperating them into different lots and selling that way. (since I would assume thats what you're doing) You will prolly get a better deal that way and if lucky have a better chance of making over your $2000-$2500 goal | |

| 50% off...opened figures...sounds about right I think. It is a nice chunk of money; I am a firm believer you can get far more if you sell by seingles or at least sets and it won't scare many potential bidders because of the huge price tag.
Takes a bit of work on your part but if it increases revenues... | |

While I'd love to get some more individual minis from him, I think his previous experience was so bad that he doesn't want to repeat it. | |

| But singles sales as a block or set would work. Heck I might even buy some if the rpice was right.
Looking at by set or faction might help. Also not lumping all the great minis together but mixing in some C and UC with the rares to make up sets might help as well. | |

Easy solution. Charge for shipping costs. Let's face it, it's fantastic when someone offers free shipping but those people are taking a loss, plain and simple. If that's what you want to do, fine. Don't have a problem with it. But charging accurate and fair shipping with the minis you (or anyone else) sells is hardly unreasonable.

I know he sent my minis via Global Express for $35 (I got them in 3 days!) instead of Airmail Parcel ($20) because his PO wouldn't let him use that option. | |

| I would rather see singles or sets too. Although with that many figures and that much inventory, the time to process everything would be enormous.
Charging fair shipping ought to be the way to go, IMO. | |

With an average value of only about $2.50 each that tells me that almost all of them are commons/uncommons with not too many rares in the mix. Most large bundle sales get their offer based on the rares with the buyer considering the commons/uncommons the "profit" margin so to speak. If the ratios are disproportionate then you will probably not get much of offer for the entire lot. For example lets say you have 20 dwarf barbarians. Price list might give them a value of something like $.75, but you might be hard pressed to find many people willing to give much more than $.10 each for that very common mini. Some rares suffer the same scaling issues as well. Need to see what is in that 2300 lot for better suggestions. | |

| Is that a good price for the lot? That depends ... how did you price them? After all, a 2500 figure collection of mostly inprint commons is worth about $800 (if yo can find the buyers), but a collection of 2500 figures collected during the first year (Harbinger through GoL) could be worth $10,000.
You're going to have to put together a list of the rares (and good uncommons) to get any type of realistic assessment of how much you shoudl get for your collection. You'll need the list when you sell it, anyways, so you might as well get cracking now ... [)]
Then, realize that the larger the set you're selling, the greater the discount you'll have to give. There are very few people out there who want to jump into collecting now and have thousands of dollars to spend to get into the game now.
If you want to optimize your profits / your efforts ratio, I'd sell them on Ebay - rares individually, uncommons and highly demanded commons in lots by figure (ie; 4X orc archer, or 7X orc warrior), and other commons in large lots (ie; 35 harbinger commons). I'd do 10 auctions as soon as possible so that you could collect some positive references and figure out the details of the system, and then start doing about 20 auctions a week for a month or two.

I already had someone contact me after I listed my sets on e-bay and sold them to see if i could come up with another set of Archfiends. I think I'm going to trade off some of these figures to a store in order to get the few rares that I still need to complete the set and trade off some of the lesser figures for ones that more people would want..
The international shipping did kill me when I listed them before. I can't afford to pick up that price again and I did get slammed hard with orders. The hardedst part was tring to stay on top of the list and making sure I got everyone in the right order so I would offer the figures to the first person that asked for that one.
I am toying with the idea of breaking it down into sets of commons/uncommoms and seeing how that would sell off. I might list the rares as singles as I know things like the beholders would go fast.
Of course I'm also thinking about the fact that it would be nice to get ride of everything at once lol. | |
