| Hi,
This is off topic but I don't know where else better to post it. Apologies in advance.
After (apparently) being possessed by demons, I tripled the size of my DDM collection over the holidays. Running at 1500 figures, foam boxes from Chessex no longer cut it.
Any suggestions on how one can conveniently and compactly store ~1500 figures to be used in gaming?
All the best,

| Hi Craig,
Try this thread: http://www.maxminis.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=12246 in the Crafter's Corner forum.
There used to be some quite extensive threads on storage, but alas they are no more.
For myself, I prefer the Stanley hardware cases - it takes four of them to hold my collection, but the huges fit in there too. I got mine at Lowe's for around $15.00 each.
Good Luck [:)] | | Completed Trades: Cha0tic g0od x2,IHawk x6,demagogue x5,jcnorris00,Sammael x3,Diomedes x3,Pan,Phoenix,samstephenson500,sage_raistlin,jai,simage,Lab Monkey x4,bugsy,Vulturedoodle,T-Bone,niolo,GreyOne,Kunimatyu,Mullins,ShivanWurm,berus316,Thenameless x3,Tysac,ksuvampire,Mama Cass,Metz,Zim x2,brucemc,Krush x2,Venport,RedneckDM,nycfarmkid,Corim Danex,Chad the DragonLordofAiur x2,Puggins,Izeya82 x2,Oryan77 x3,Zenako,Wayne,Vocenoctum1,Drakkengi,Username x2,lyus_sleyden,Cyberia,Star x2,xuthal x3,Qucalion of Celene x8,sam500 x2,Blob39,Keoki x2,hazel monday x3,emontedodger,Dargoth,Wraithborne,Anothermullen,Vrecknidj x4,Ghendar,Gunthar,shoesan,beurice,ckissee,kyrin,Khellrendros,GuJiaXian,Wolfgang,True_Blue,md3,stephengroy(MMT08),Teflon Jeff,GuJiaXian(MMT08),aries71,Count Dooku,Kat_Dawg33,oldben,TheChuck,hung4treasonI I I I I I I I I I 0 I I I I I I I I I I Pending: relientKitten

| Thanks, that's very helpful. I guess I'll go to Home Depot or Lowes and see what I can find. The talk of how to organize the figures was useful as well.
I don't suppose you know which Stanley boxes you use? There seem to be quite a lot of them. I guess the trip to the store will shed light on this too.
Further suggestions still welcome...
Craig

| Well, I tried to find it on the Lowe's website, but no luck so far. If I do find it, I'll post a link.
It's a black case with handle, and a clear, unbreakable flap top. It has a single layer of removable, deep, yellow bins that can be arranged in different configurations. There are two sizes availible (one deep - a little over 3 1/2'', the other, about half that). I found mine in the hardware section (as opposed to storage section).
That's not much of a description, but I hope it helps [:)] | | Completed Trades: Cha0tic g0od x2,IHawk x6,demagogue x5,jcnorris00,Sammael x3,Diomedes x3,Pan,Phoenix,samstephenson500,sage_raistlin,jai,simage,Lab Monkey x4,bugsy,Vulturedoodle,T-Bone,niolo,GreyOne,Kunimatyu,Mullins,ShivanWurm,berus316,Thenameless x3,Tysac,ksuvampire,Mama Cass,Metz,Zim x2,brucemc,Krush x2,Venport,RedneckDM,nycfarmkid,Corim Danex,Chad the DragonLordofAiur x2,Puggins,Izeya82 x2,Oryan77 x3,Zenako,Wayne,Vocenoctum1,Drakkengi,Username x2,lyus_sleyden,Cyberia,Star x2,xuthal x3,Qucalion of Celene x8,sam500 x2,Blob39,Keoki x2,hazel monday x3,emontedodger,Dargoth,Wraithborne,Anothermullen,Vrecknidj x4,Ghendar,Gunthar,shoesan,beurice,ckissee,kyrin,Khellrendros,GuJiaXian,Wolfgang,True_Blue,md3,stephengroy(MMT08),Teflon Jeff,GuJiaXian(MMT08),aries71,Count Dooku,Kat_Dawg33,oldben,TheChuck,hung4treasonI I I I I I I I I I 0 I I I I I I I I I I Pending: relientKitten

| Im running about 8-900 now myself and finding storage not the hard part. the hard part is finding the mini I want when I need it (I skirmish primarily). RPG is a whole different issue. I dont play where I live.. I have to transport them to my buddies house.
I use tip out bins for bulk storage of themes of models (Fodder, , Dwarf Caster/Shooter) and all my rares and high value go into a tackle tray for each faction.
Cards have recently gone into 9 part sleeves and into binders. wheeee! | | Minis... Serious Business Completed Trades (18 ) | Pending Trades (0) Ebay seller to Avoid –Fantasy_Quest_Dist

I have a fishing bag that hold 8 divided containers (walmart). One for each set. I also have a large plastic tool box that I have everything else in that I need for skirmish. Cards are in deck boxes by set (2 of the same color for each set) good factions in 1 and evil in the other (any and other mixes are with the good) I can quickly find the minis and cards I need and easly transport them where ever. | | First peon to make it to "Knight Warlord" Completed Trades -148- | |

| | I have two of those fishing bags that spikegif mentions from Walmart. They each have 8 plastic containers. I recently resorted all of my DDM (1741) into categories by creature type. The huges and several larges are in a large plastic toolbox. They all fit, and having them sorted by type is very handy. | | "Look to God and live."
