I have joined to advise my fellow gamers worldwide to please be careful if considering purchasing items from Battleworks.net
In my experience with [these people], they have proven to be completely unreliable and quite possibly the most unhelpful person I have had the misfortune of dealing with on-line.
I was notified over a month ago by the Royal Mail that they were in receipt of returned goods, yet they fail to acknowledge this little fact and have renaged on the refund.
Also, if you are based in the UK, AVOID AT ALL COSTS! They are not EU shopper friendly and will declare [inaccurate] information on their item description so that you incurr a very large HM Customs Charge and Royal Mail handling charge. I had a parcel containing miniatures valued at $60, yet [they] marked the parcel as containing goods valued at $190. This meant a charge of $58 !!! I also had a parcel valued at $120 (Part of the aforementioned order) turn up at my door almost 3 months after the date I originally placed the order. Their postage and packaging to the UK is designed so that they make a 100% profit on P&P. To date, I am owed about $80 from them for returned goods, but I receive no answer to my emails. Their cutomer service is non-existant!

In summing up Battleworks.net, please do yourself a favour and avoid at all costs!
Kind regards,
MMM
UPDATE 6th August 2007
The last communication sent to me was on the 20th June 2007. It read...
Hello Richard,
We have not yet received it. We'll keep looking for it.
Thanks, Sean: Shipping Manager
It is now 50 days later and no further communication regarding the returned parcel or refund has been made despite many attempts to obtain an update of the situation.
[...] I will let you all judge Battleworks.net yourself.

| I have also had bad service from Battleworks ... despite several emails and apologies on their side for "losing" my order, 12 months later I still have received nothing and am $250 out of pocket.
On the up side, I still have my $5 coupon they gave me for their mistake!!

| Yes, we do on occasion have trouble with orders.
This gentlemen was upset with having to pay customs fees. We do not illegally post false statements on custom forms. Once he saw that he had to pay he wanted a refund, instantly with out sending any thing back. We are still waiting on the returned product.
In fact we were alarmed at his repeated vile and curse filled emais and felt that he was just trying to scam us as we were notified that all items were delivered and picked up by him.
If you would like some of the harshest personal attacks against some one and thier family(yes he even attacks my kids) let me know and I'll email you a log of his foulness.

| BW... Oh the lies you tell.
"This gentlemen was upset with having to pay customs fees. We do not illegally post false statements on custom forms. Once he saw that he had to pay he wanted a refund, instantly with out sending any thing back. We are still waiting on the returned product."
Your actual response to the customs charge was...
Richard,
My employee was just following the procedures for shipping. Legally we are required to fill out the form accurately.
On the other hand, I usually handle International orders and I do send all international orders as gifts. We currently use 3 different post offices in order to get orders out and have recently found 1 International Friendly office in which I am starting to rout ALL my international orders though. I do not expect any problems from them and I will be able to ship items as gifts without them pulling shipments.
I will gladly work something out with you in order to earn your business back. How about I cover the customs charges as a Gift Certificate for $60.00 Store credit that you can use any time you want. Plus I'll make sure to mark any future packs as a Gift and if some how you get charged again you let me know and I'll cover it.
Let me know if this is acceptable and I'll Generate a $60.00 coupon code that you can use on any order.
Sorry for the Hassle.
Joey
(A copy of this email can be forwarded to anyone interested and already cements the fact that Joey of www.battleworks.net is indeed a liar.)
Can you refuse shippment and not incur any cost? If so Please do so and I'll refund your payment in full.
Thanks, Joey
Joey, You received the small package months ago, I have friends that work at the local post office that assure me your part order was returned 2 weeks after I received it, after I refused to accept a $60 charge on the part order. I know you received it; The Royal Mail know you recieved it; You local post office know you received it. What you have either done is, 1) refused the parcel because the charges incurred at both ends will no doubt exceed the value of the miniatures and is currently sat gathering dust in your local post office after you refused to accept delivery. 2) my returned miniatures were part of someone elses order MONTHS AGO.
"In fact we were alarmed at his repeated vile and curse filled emais and felt that he was just trying to scam us as we were notified that all items were delivered and picked up by him."
YES! I admit my colourful use of the english language was over the top in my dealing with Joey. I would however state that in my defence, the provokation, whether intended or not, by Joey's very poor communication (averaging one unhelpful provokation every 2 weeks initailly) did nothing but infuriate me.
With regards to you being notified the all items were delivered and picked up by myself, to you sir, I call you a liar.
My initial order was placed on 23rd of April 2007. I received part of the order on 4th May 2007. Photos of the parcel were sent to you, taken by postal staff within the distribution office where I notified you that shortly after that the small parcel containing the single miniatures would remain at the post office until they were returned to sender (YOU) due to non-collection. On 14th of June 2007, I received the missing parcel containing 12 Axis & Allies Booster Sets to which I emailed you the following...
To: Battleworks.net Sent: Thursday, June 14, 2007 7:05:45 PM Subject: received missing parcel
Missing parcel arrived today (6/14/07)
Cancel your claim for the parcel. I have also notified Endicia of it's eventual arrival.
Have you received the small parcel containing single units?
You replied...
Hello Richard,
We have not yet received it. We'll keep looking for it.
Thanks, Sean: Shipping Manager
That Sir was the last communication from yourselves. Though perhaps, nay certainly in the wrong for my use of profanity, I believe my loss of temper was justified by the continued disrespect shown to me as a customer and disgusting level of customer service shown to me.
I again reiterate, I did say some very horrible things to my own shame in my emailings, and in a perfect world, I could have just used violence in resolving this dispute rather than resort to vile emails, but the sheer distance between Scotland and the USA made such an act impossible.
I do understand that some Americans like to exaggerate the reality in which they live. Look where our two nations are placed in the Iraq due to a certain Mr Bush's exaggerations. You Sir, in addressing the patrons of this forum have exaggerated my part in your failings.
I too have all our emailings, PLUS those that you ignored. I too will happily hand over ALL emails to those that feel the need to see how this breakdown in retailer/customer relations truely occurred.
Please note, as of today I still have received no further emailing regarding the returned parcel Joey and Sean were looking out for all those months ago.
You would think that they would have emailed one way or another as to it's whereabouts.
Even if I lose the money from the returned parcel, I do know that I will not go to hell for theft. Can you say the same Joey?

| I have returned to correct you on one further blatant lie you posted Joey.
In the interests of accuracy, I must address this alledged vile attack on your kids...
I referred to the child responsible for scribbling as Joey Jnr, you corrected me on my error by stating the child in question was not your employee but indeed your NEPHEW!. After re-reading the offending emails to my shame, at no point was did I attack your family or your kids as you claimed. You were fully aware of the context in which I used the term Joey Jnr in.
To quote you...
"If you would like some of the harshest personal attacks against some one and thier family(yes he even attacks my kids) let me know and I'll email you a log of his foulness."
I believe this is where you draw the attack on your KIDS (?) from...
"I also intend to report you for employing minors without due supervision. Please see document attached. It is a copy of the invoice held with the part order sent by the child you instructed to pickand pack my order. At the bottom, you will clearly notice the "thank you". Monkey sees, monkey does. I draw your attention to the ticks in the boxes as Joey Jnr, or whoever ticked off the items whilst packing and then got bored and decided to just count the items in the list. The hand-writing is that of a child. You have printed off the invoice, signed the "Thank you" at the top, then set little Joey Jnr to go pick and pack the order. Next time, show little Joey Jnr what a f******g (edited by myself for use on this forum) 12 Booster pack order looks like and you will avoid this kind of unpleasantness in the future."
Your reply was...
"By the way the person who wrote thank you is not my employee, he is my nephew who I was watching and was trying to make him feel needed by letting him write thank you on the orders I did that day. Sorry if some kid who's self esteem was raised a little that day cause you to think I have illegal child labor working for me???" Â
Joey, if you persist with your fabricated slander, you and I will be dealing with each other via our Lawyers.

Rather than doing like most other Europeans and jump at the chance to bash americans; how about sticking to your problem with Battlwork.net and leave the rest of us "exaggerating" americans out of it? I'm sick of hearing the world whine about americans as if your country or leaders are any better. This is supposed to be a place for everyone to discuss the D&D hobby, not a stage for you to remind us how much you hate Bush. Geez, I can't even read a miniatures website without having to hear some crap about Bush and anti-american garbage. Did you email the White House? Maybe Bush stole your miniatures!

MagicMoonMonkey you've been warned before by myself to keep personal attacks off of MaxMinis. Threats of or expression of the desire to commit physical violence against another maxminis member are absolutely unacceptable under any circumstances here.  Same goes for political discussion and insults outside of the Off Topic forum (and probably in it as well).Â
MagicMoonMonkey, I suggest you take a vacation from Maxminis before one is permanently forced on you.
If you have a problem with a seller, please feel free to post your comments here. However, you absolutely must restrict your comments to your observation of the facts in the case. You are not allowed to make personal attacks of any kind against another Maxminis members, regardless of how frustrated you are with the situation.
