| If this has been brought up and rejected before, I apologize. I'm wondering if it wouldn't make sense to have a separate forum for endless discussion of spoilers and speculation. General Discussion is less a "general" discussion these days, and rather just a catalog of conversations about unreleased products. While these are fine conversations to have, certainly, I'm wondering if it wouldn't inspire some new diversity of discussion in the GD forum to relocate these prediction-related threads to their own area.
Not looking to pick a fight here or anything, of course. If GD is where spoilers/predictions belong, I will happily live with it. It's just that as someone who is interested in the *present* sets as opposed to *future* sets (I actually avoid previews to keep that element of surprise alive), I pretty much stay away from GD these days, since the dominating theme is currently spoiler/preview/prediction discussions.
Just an idea. If it's unpopular or already put down, no problem.[:)] No need to "tear me a new one," as it were. | |

It was brought up and rejected sometime late last year, but I still think it's a good idea.

| I'm not a mod, but I think it was just for the fact that there would be nothing left to talk about in the General forum.

I can see what you're saying, but I actually think there'd be *plenty* to discuss beyond speculation/predictions/spoilers. I'll go one further and suggest that moving the spoilers/speculation topics elsewhere might even *generate* more diverse topics in GD.
Again, just my opinion. I'd be interested in hearing the official line on why the idea was rejected the first time around. Mods? | |

Yeah, it's increasingly appealing as this latest bout of "preview fever" seems truly unending. Injury to injury for those of us avoiding previews is that people now post the spoiler info in the name of the thread. Oh well. So much for Xmas morning.[xx(]

| By a time a set is released, there is really absolutely nothing left to discuss about it that is not Skirmish, RPG, or repaint-related, and there are separate forums for those topics. In other words, General pretty much is the news forum, and news almost always happen to be spoilers for the next set.
BTW, as a consumer, I don't want to be surprised. I have a limited amount of funds I can allocate to DDM, and I want to make sure they are properly allocated - i.e. I want the spoilers as soon as possible to determine my spending for the set.
I was against this idea the last time it was proposed, and I remain firmly against it. | |

| Now that jai is back (welcome back, jai!), can someone point me to the thread wherein it was decided [officially] to *not* create a separate forum for spoilers/speculation? I'm not contesting the decision; just interested to see the reasoning.
