| G'day, all!
I'm looking for a bunch of moderators for... well, pretty much all the forums on maxminis. I'd like there to be two moderators for each forum (although particularly high-traffic forums may require another).
If you're currently moderating a forum and you want to stop moderating, please let me know.
If you think you're moderator material, post in this thread along with a list of the forums you'd like to help moderate.

Forums I am in a lot and thuis best suited to help would be general (and/or ddm general now..?), ddm skirmish.

| If you can post on maxminis, you can be a moderator. (No, seriously!)
A moderator gains a couple of extra buttons: the ability to edit any post (which allows you to change the forum it lives in), and to lock threads. You can also stickify threads.
Although moderators can delete threads and posts, in general, we try not to do that. Truly offensive posts (spam) are deleted, we move others to an "Admin Archive" that only the moderators can see, so we've got them for further reference.
It's not particularly hard to do from a computer perspective. I can do it, after all. It's the good judgement of knowing when a thread has degenerated into personal attacks and needs to be locked that is really needed. As you probably have observed, I tend to be stricter than most moderators in such matters, which is why I really like you people handling those things first!

I'm very interested in the SWM ship battles myself; I'm not sure about the forum set-up yet. When does it come out?
Is it worth keeping within the SWM forums or breaking it out? Things to consider.

I think I remember November? I personally want some of those ships myself. Sure, it's kinda stand-alone, but that's great. How often do we break out board games or other stand-alone games?
Whats even better is that one person can simply get a mess of figures and have enough to play a few different things against each other. There's not likely to be alot of chasing, etc. going on with no organized play, etc. Sure, some based on pure rarity, collectors and highly desirable models ... but I don't think it will be stirge-crazy.

| I have absolutly no qualifications for this.
My software programming skills are on par with a ninety year old.
If needed however, I waste enough time here to do the job.
My prefrences would be General(general), DDM(skirmish), DDM(general) and Dreamblade related stuff.
I suppose I could take on any of the odd forums if needed, they generally seem to lack heavy traffic, so should be a bit less reading intensive. (hey I'm lazy) | |

I'd like to toss my hat into the ring. I can moderate any forums, but obiviously doing the DDM general / strat / tourney stuff would be preffered.
Ive got quite a lot of experience being a forum whor..er.. Moderator. I was the moderator for CoFRbbs.net for a year (500 - 1000 active posters), I created / ran / run the forums on Church-of-Fof.com and CGAGamers.com (phpBB2) and still maintain an active role in various other smaller forums.

Mine as well. [/QUOTE] Not sure about my status, but it does appear that if I open a thread to reply, I can still toggle the thread Lock option. However, this is a more involved process than we had on the previous setup. I do not see any ability to delete or move threads at this time on my options. Z PS, when I post a reply to a thread, the Chat Box wasted space dissappears from my viewing window...curious | |
