Just a couple of minor things I'd love to see:

1) When I click on the "My posts" link, could we actually get a link/reference/thread to click on to access threads prior to the change, rather than just seeing them--that would save a lot of search time and cross-page referencing time.

2) How can I delete threads I've authored or posts I've made?

Thanks.

IIRC you can not delete your own posts/threads. You can edit them to have nothing inside.

It seems that the general consensus is that the new forum module (accessed by clicking on the "Try Me" link in the menu/tool bar at the top) is much better that the one that is currently being used, so maxminis will most likely be switching over to that forum module in the near future.

Those forums allow a user to delete their own posts, so once the change over to the new forum code occurs, you'll be able to do that. Changes and posts made in the "test" forums are most likely going to be overwritten, so anything deleted there now probably isn't going to stay deleted when the change is made.

As far as the results of search and "My Posts" on both the current boards and the new "testing" boards, the problem is that the old maxminis forum software did not allow for each post to have its own subject. The newer forums allow it, but because the old posts that were transfered over did not have that information, the subject for all replies are currently missing (or incorrect on a few that somehow did get subjects) for those older threads.

Unfortunately, the subject is used for the link, so in the results page there is no text to click on to reach those posts (the urls are available if you view the html source of the page, and want to go through the extra effort).

I'm hoping that fixing the old thread titles can somehow be set up as an automated task, and either be taken care of as part of the transition or done separately by working on the post database.

This is an artifact of the conversion from the old boards.  We're trying to add back the correct subjects, but it probably won't be done until after the new boards are working properly.  We're trying to prioritize the bugs.

The current boards apparently do not have such basic features, and are highly lacking in the mod department, besides all the bugs.  Thats why we're working on the new boards (see on the menu bar).  The new boards were actually my first choice, because it resembled the snitz boards we originally chose, but for technical reasons we couldn't port to those boards initially.  However, with all the bugs that popped up with the new boards, we revisited trying to figure out how to get on those boards.  We have since found a workaround, but theres still a bug to fix (which makes them slow right now).  Once we're satisfied that we know the cause of the bug and the solution, we'll make the jump.  They have features like letting you delete your own posts and a plethora of mod functionality these boards lack.  Just about every bug on the current boards is solved on the new boards.

I understand.

I have my hopes up that the new, new migration will include these two very useful features.

I will stop back and check the Forum Discussion folder for updates.
