| They're user ratings of a particular thread. I assume you realize that and are calling for a formal explanation. If so, I agree. Something like this would be nice in a 'new forums guide'.

I agree. A certain user has a dispute with Krush on the disputed trades thread. Immediately afterwards, Krush's reference thread shows up with 1 star. That's basically a backhanded flame. | |

And, for the record, I had no idea. It could have been intended as an indicator of improper conduct, or anything else. I had no idea of the intended use.
Although I must agree about what Vash said about that jgsugden guy... Maxminis had no problems before he showed up... | |

Although I must agree about what Vash said about that jgsugden guy... Maxminis had no problems before he showed up...
The only reason I knew what they were for was from the previous version of the new forums. If you hovered over the star's it would say something along the lines of "rate this thread" and it would tell you (5 out of 5 stars based on 1 user). The latest version of the forums did away with that explanation.

There are ways that it could be useful, but I agree that it is far too easy to abuse.
I'll see how difficult it would be to remove the thread rating feature, and talk it over with webmaster.

If you mean the ones hiding at the top of the "posts" view, I'll take care of it today or tomorrow they should be gone now.
If you're seeing stars somewhere else, I'm not sure if drinking is going to help with that
