| Is anyone else having problems with the search function? I'm never getting anything listed, and it is not timing out as far as I can tell. I even tried topics that are going on right now and I still got nothing. If it matters, I'm using the latest version of Firefox.
Lastly, I tried to see if this has been brought up before, but I can't find anything because my search function doesn't work.  Â Thanks.

| For a long time, I was getting nothing until I clicked Search a second time. Then, the other day, I got nothing no matter how many times I clicked.
So, something's not working.

I don't think the problem is your browser, unless you are opening the "Search" link into a new tab or window instead of loading it in the current page. I've noticed that sometimes it doesn't work correctly if I've opened it into a new tab (occurs randomly, using Safari and Firefox on Mac).
Does searching using the "Posted By" option work correctly? It seems that it requires use of the exact username, regardless of which "Match..." option is chosen, but it does tend to work reliably.
I haven't searched for text lately, but when I checked today my searches only brought up a few very old old results, so there might be a problem with that. I'll let webmaster know about the problem, since I think the text search was working previously.
I also seem to have an occasional problem where the chat feature pops open after I have clicked on the link to start a search, which of course happened right now in one of the tabs I have open and is virtually guaranteed to crash the ancient version of Safari I'm running as soon as I reload or go to a new page.  | | | |

| I just tried searcing for myself. I didn't get anything when I searched for All, then I got all of my posts when I searched under D&D roleplaying, but then I never saw a change under any other topic. I went back and tried to do the same thing again anf got nothing. So at best I'm getting very sporadic results and not what I ask for.

| hmmm it probably is that you are searching in all forums. This may take too long for the server to complete and it will time out the request. I tried selecting the general discussion forum in the pulldown and searched for 'dungeon' and it worked fine. Try searching in just one forum at a time and see if it works.

For what it's worth (responding to a previous post now), I use both Firefox and IE, and do so from different machines under different circumstances and have had roughly the same luck with both.
