| | What do you think of requiring users to have location (city, state/province and country) recorded before they can receive or send any new trade offers?
I end up needing to request location a lot of times before I will consider accepting or making a trade offer. I think it would save hassle if location were required. And then, we would have to update it when we move. If there was a different mailing address provided, it could raise concern, and we could inform moderators. | | "Look to God and live." | I'm all for having a location on record for trading.

| I'd like to require accurate location information to help with trading, but currently there isn't any way to enforce it if we made it mandatory.
When changes get made to the trading interface, this is something that will definitely be considered, although I can't give you any sort of timeframe for when it might be implemented.

| Thanks for working it into the trading interface upgrade. I understand that it takes time to do stuff like that. If you are looking for ideas to incorporate into an improved trading system: Make it so that we can actually read feedback results more easily Have some kind of controls where admins can lock people's ability to use interface if they get on probation of some kind (so person moderating disputed trade thread can lock down someone before they get too many disputed trades piled up).
I don't know how difficult it is to do all that since I don't know how to program. I only have an outsiders' understanding. | | "Look to God and live." Alma 37:47 Vindicated Champ of Hippogriff (Arcadian Hippogriff) and Uncommon Horse

| Even if a location weren't mandatory, it would be a nice feature.
We can consider it this way. If traders said "I'll only trade with you if you have a listed location, and that location fits with the address you want me to ship to," then there would be an incentive to include that information.

| | I think that it would be good to require the location fields to be filled out, I doubt there is any way to enforce their correctness. But it would be nice if everyone's location or even just country was listed. | | Champion of Champions (for all races! even Gnomes ) Reference Thread Winnipeg Gryphon Cavalry Forums

| That I agree with as well. Location, even just country, should be listed, if you intend on trading

| | I really like the location idea. It could be as simple as having the location thingy under your avatar being a required field upon signing up. | | This new learning amazes me Sir Bedevere. Not a bad idea but what's to stop people from typing in anything they want in that space? I could say I'm from East Calawacky. If I remember correctly, the old Maxminis required you to pick from a list or just have no location.
