And, sometimes I use parenthetical references (some of us took a grammar course in school). And, sometimes when I do this, the content of the reference includes the number 8 (such as in this instructive example, i.e. . And, when it happens, that stupid smiley shows up.
Just ranting. I'm sure it's a computer programming feat that would require NASA techs to change.

Some time in the next few days, that smiley will be changing to [8)] so that it doesn't show up unexpectedly anymore.
Because of the way that Microsoft Word pastes html, :) also needs to be changed to [:)] and ;) needs to be changed to [;)], so I'm probably going to go through an change all of the non :word: smileys so that they are enclosed in brackets.
