In the poster scans thread, I mentioned that I had temporarily added the bbcode style [IMG]...[/IMG] tags to the filters to make it easier for images to be posted by people who aren't familiar with html.
Unfortunately, one of the potential issues that I was concerned about has been cropping up and causing some confusion when people edit their posts (since [/img] tags were showing up in odd places where they shouldn't have).
So, the [IMG] tags have been removed for now, until I have a chance to check out whether or not a slightly different replacement would cause any conflicts.
I hope to have them back in the filter list later this week, assuming there aren't any conflicts (and I don't think there should be, I just want to be sure).

| Which thread?
The [IMG] and [/IMG] bbcode style tags were only used (by the smiley filter) when creating or editing a post, so it shouldn't have any affect on existing posts that used to work.
The pictures displayed using the html img tag (or the [IMG] tag) generally aren't hosted here though, so it's possible whatever site they were hosted on no longer has the original image.

| Since I thought I had added them back a long time ago...
I've gone ahead and added the [IMG] ... [/IMG] and [img] ... [/img] again, with the implementation I mentioned earlier in the thread. It's not the most efficient way to do things, but it seems to work.
So from now on, if you type [IMG] you had better mean it! (unless you know sneaky tricks to dodge the smiley filters...) | | | |
