| I've noticed the past few days that some posts are being posted to, but when I try to read them, I'm not seeing the new posts. On the index screen of the forum (mainly in the OT forum, but that could just be because I've been spending most of my time there) It shows that new posts are being made but there's nothing there when I look....sometimes not even posts I remember making. Usually they've shown up a day or 2 later.
As an example, this thread:

I know I posted on it this morning, and the main screen shows the last post being made by TeflonJeff at 3:39 today, but the most recent post I can view is Kyrin's from 4/5/08.
Anybody else having this issue, or is it maybe something with my computer? | |

| I've noticed the same thing. Prior to the hacker, my count was over 10,000. After he messed with our system I was down to 9,980.

If you guys notice more messed up threads, please post them here, maybe I can fix them. Right now I cant see anything wrong with that thread, so more data would be useful. | |

I find if I quick reply at near same time as someone else, my post gets sucked into the cyber abyss.

It seems that in some cases, posts are showing up on a theoretical "next page" but the threads aren't being updated to show that another page of posts exists.
For example, in the "Thread for reporting needed H/W list updates" thread header showed the most recent post as being made by rtmc, but that post didn't show up in the thread.
By modifying the url of the fourth page to change it to a theoretical fifth page

I found myself on the mystical "page 5 of 4" and located rtmc's post.
It looks like the recovered posts aren't being counted in the "posts in this thread" count, and so the paging code doesn't allow access to the last page until there are enough additional posts made so that the incorrect "posts in this thread" count reaches the number when a new page would exist.

See the above post... your replies are on page 2 of 1.
Since so many posts in that thread were made right about the time the hacking occurred, there are lots of recovered posts in that thread which the paging code isn't aware of.

Hopefully there is some way for Host to filter the recovered posts to find them in the database and fix the post count of the threads they are in.

It looks like I've found a way to manually fix threads that have this problem, and I've fixed these:
Forums - Thread for Reporting Needed H/W Updates
Off-Topic - Any Maggots...
Off-topic - My 2k
I should be able to go through the threads to find and gradually fix them all over the next few days as I have time.
If you notice any other threads with this problem, post links here and I'll fix those sooner rather than later.
