I am curious about looking at old pages of maxminis--particularly avatars of users from about 3 years ago. Is there any way to do this?

Eventually, we hope to have several archived versions of older incarnations of maxminis browsable (more info), but I'm not sure if the avatars are part of the backups we'd be working from.

You could use this website and type in www.maxminis.com.  Its not 100% perfect, but it does give a little info about the past.
