| Scenario Clarifications:
1) Can a creature and its minions be split up in this scenario, or are they treated as one creature / point unit? 2) Are support tropps lumped in for purposes of splitting warbands, or can they be added in "after" the split? 3) Is band placement all at once, or are we alternating (as in does player 1 place both halves first, or does player 1 place 1/2, then player 2 places 1/2, then player 1 finishes the other half...)? 4) Do creatures with special placement abilities (wandering monsters, mongrelfolk, etc.) still get to use those abilities (I would assume so...)? | | There are 10 kinds of people in the world; those who understand binary, and those who don't. | Fixed Thea's stats Fixed lurch_E_bean (CG)
A creature and its minions can be split in the secnario. They count as 0 points, but they count toward the figure total.
I think that support troops would be placed at the same time and with the same rules as the rest of the warband.
The player who placed the first terrain tile would place their entire warband first.
My thoughts on the wandering monster/scout/cave setup issue would be to place the units with those properties first according to their placement rules. Then you would divide the rest of you warband equally as discribed in the scenario.

Summary: Split battle was interesing, and I thought I was smarmy making a LOS path and putting the standardbearer on the other side. He wins init and drops two in Standardbearer, then fireballs to finish the job. Im down a Bearer and three men at arms. A couple of Searing lights and a few hits get the Treant down. He takes out my WFF and begins to try and trample Vig. Vig swings, connects and causes him to route. WFH meets in the middle and gets a SOF. Then begins to try and get back to the others to kill. Heading that way with the CoL trailing, Treant routes and catches up to him and kills him. Finally, its Axefighter, and Hero vs Treant at 25 life and Marshall. We both swing and miss with a few hits here or there for about 10 rounds, then finally Hero kills Treant and routes IM. Hero has 5 HP til route, and axefighter made his MC. So it looks good for me, and after a few more misses it works out to the finish. | | Im out- find me on Hordelings if you want to chat.

Warlord's leveling options: n/a Magic item gained: Potion of Sprinting ([][] Swift +6 speed this turn) Magic item lost: n/a
BATTLE SUMMARY Kane and his loyal Lt., Gamora the Blue, traveled lightly with only an Azer and a raised Dwarf skeleton as bodyguards. They had been traveling long through the dungeon to rendezvous with a Bone Devil friendly to their dark cause. Warchief Krawd's spies got wind of the plot, so he called upon his surf, Snig the Axe, to meet him where the Bone Devil was known to lair. Krawd and the dimwitted green wyrm Ignavus brought a pair of goblin spearchuckers along to join Snig's entourage of a goblin assassin, a pair of spearchucker goblins, and Ignavus's cousin, Bardus.
Ignavus, always nimble but never bright, charged headlong toward the sounds of Kane's oncoming quad. He immediately loosed his toxic spittle, melting Gamora and the skeleton into sizzling heaps, and burning the azer who fled headlong back into the darkness. Kane stepped aside to take only minor wounds. Kane responded by leaving his trademark undead to sandwich the attacker, and jogged off toward the bone devil, who was now in sight. As Snig and his fellows approached the bone devil's lair, the infernal creature showed itself by dropping in next to Bardus. Bardus took flight to knock down Kane before a varitable army of undead was summoned, only to catch a poison sting in his flank as he took to the air. Snig's crew charged the boney beast, most of the blows simply glancing off harmlessly. The goblin assassin, however, struck marrow as he plunged his blade into the devil. Krawd moved up toward Kane.
Kane brought forth another pair of undead servants, his trademark minotaur skeleton and a rotting human zombie, as he stepped back from Bardus, who bit him in the process. The Bone Devil took flight, joining Kane as a mighty battle shield. Bardus replied with a spray of acid, scalding Kane and one of the giant skeletons. Snig's squad rushed into the fray, launching spears and setting up for charges on the devil. Kane, now with grievous wounds, thought only of self preservation and bolted for the hallway he came from. Ignavus the Dim took flight to cut Kane off, taking several blows from the two undead surrounding him. He expected Krawd to direct his dive, but with Krawd out of sight he simply blocked Kane's retreat path. Krawd ordered his spearchuckers in and shouted for Ignavus to finish Kane off, putting an end to the four looming monstrosities Kane had conjured.
Now, Krawd and Snig converged on the Devil. The devil quickly dispatched the dangerous goblin assassin, then focused his tender care on Krawd. This fierce battle, with Snig and Krawd, 2 green dragons, and 4 goblin skirmishers pounding on the nearly impervious devil raged on for many minutes. Krawd was poisoned and nearly halfway dead before a goblin skirmisher finally struck the deathblow, ending the conflict.
Krawd and Bardus bolted for the nearest shaman in search of an antidote. Upon examining the devil's lair, Krawd found his prize, a magic shield. Meanwhile, Kane's body was being reformed...
We surprised each other with unexpected warbands, and kept the game close until the final rolls. | RULES CLARIFICATION: Tullywi and OC ran into a question in their game:
Could the MAA starting its turn on difficult terrain charge (MAA had LOS, clear path, and target was closest creature in sight)?
Answer: YES he can charge.
(01/03/05) Charging: Add the following to the Blocked Path section of the charging rules: You can ignore squares that slow movement that the creature actually occupies when it starts its charge, so long as it can leave those squares with its first square of movement. In other words, a creature that occupies Difficult terrain can charge out of that Difficult terrain so long as it none of its move is slowed by Difficult terrain.

Well, Elvira was routed off the board by the beholder in round 1, and that set the tone for the match. The Orc Warriors ripped into my Beholder and the Eye landed a Godly Blow on the Eye Tyrant. The Beholder retaliated by disintegrating the Eye of Gruumsh's head, making him run off the board like an orc with its head blasted off. The Champ charged in to finish the Beholder off. Mika and Slag fought valiantly, but were both taken down. Urthok became a mighty killing machine and took down the rest of the orcs, only getting hit twice in return.
It was a good game, really close and exciting. I'm glad I came out on top. | | Successful Trades (31) | Trades Pending (0) 12th Place in the 2005 Nationals, and I owe it all to the Minis Training Montage. Champion of Celestial Giant Stag Beetles

Nevan goes to level 5 (+5 Lvl, +50 HP, +5 Att, +2 CR), XP: 7250 3. 250 XP to Clank 4. No level options 5. Gained Ring of the Lion (fearless) 6. Traded in Armor of Fire Resistance
7. Valyssa, Lion Falcon Monk*2, Whirling Steel Monk, Young Master 8. 250 XP gained 9. 8750 total XP so no level 10. Necklace of Glorious Recovery 11. Traded in +1 Weapon and Major Enlarged Scroll
12. Nevan, a Coutal, the Hill Dwarf, the Azer, and Clank started together with the other Coutal, the Gensai, Aramil, and Jengal lost in the dungeon. Valyssa, a Lion Falcon Monk, and the Whirling Monk started within sprinting distance of Nevan while the Master and other Monk prepared a flanking strike.
The dungeon quickly became foggy as Valyssa moved toward Nevan. Her LFM rushed into the fog finding his way to Nevan. The WSM also found her way to Nevan as the Young Master and other Monk quickly closed the distance. Two blows from Clank and two Empowered orbs from Snake put the first LFM out of business. However, he did manage to Stun/Smite/Critical on Nevan before he went.
The backup (except the out of command Jengal) arrived for battle. The Whirling Steel Monk brutalized Aramil only to be taken down by the Gensai and Swift’s orb. Clank withstood a stunning critical from the LFM. A lucky MC pass the next round really limited the monk’s damage output over the rest of the game. After the Gensai and the Coutals blasted the Master to death, the healing began on Clank.
Valyssa laid down her weapons, and Clank, who was now in charge of the warband, accepted her surrender.
Except for the three Stunning attack 20’s the monks had a hard time hitting (as you would expect). This was a very fun game. Takasi had a good strategy, but I luckily picked out a fast counter band. Sixty sure fire damage from the Coutals was nice, but I wish that I had protected Nevan better.
Good game Takasi.

Leveling: +1 level, +5 HP, []Summon Nature's Ally III Lieutenant XP: n/a Lieutenant leveling options: n/a Magic item gained: (maj) +1 armor of etherealness Magic item lost: (med) +1 shield of fortune prevailing

Warlord's leveling options: n/a Magic item gained: +1 shield of minor invulnerability (DR5) Magic item lost: +1 armor (traded in)
BATTLE SUMMARY The battle developed quickly; Aramil snuck around a wall to eliminate the Orc Savage with a magic missile while Unger sent his beguiled boar against the earth elemental. The earth elemental and monk started off in fine form, but soon found themselves unable to land blows. The undead dragon and the wolf sped across the dungeon toward their enbattled brethren, while Thea plodded steadily leaving Aramil in the rear for ranged support.
The using Ungers enchanted speed, the boar gored the elemental into oblivion, then turned his attention to the monk. The bone dragon landed at the monks fett just as the monk was able to fell the boar; however, boars go down with difficulty and the death strike ended with one Lion Falcon Kabob. Thea retaliated by frightening off the wolf. As the full ranks of forces collided, Thea's resolve faultered, and she could not direct her troops as quickly as needed.
In her final efforts, she called a pair of Azers down to Unger, but the dragon froze one and iced another of thea's footmen as well. Aramil's shots from the back 40 were just not going to be effective in taking down the mammoth dragon. Thea made a last ditch effort to take Unger with her, but Unger had other plans, and poisoned the wounded Azer followed by a mighty blow on Thea from his ring to finish her off.
Unger collected a suit of Ghost Armor of power from the battlefield, while Thea awoke rematerialized by Heironeus's hand, with a new shield at her disposal.
