| REPORT: Adept(LE) vs Oldcoast(CE) Adept VP = 125 , Oldcoast VP = 53
Winning Warlord: Talla, Cleric of Nerull Talla's Warband: Talla, Cleric of Nerull, Fury the azer, Yukora the chraal, Efreet, 5x goblin skirmisher Warlord XP: +1000 XP / +1500 CP Warlord Leveling: +1 Spell Level, +5 hp, +1 CR, 1st lv sp- magic weapon Lieutenant: 500 XP Yukora the chraal Lieutenant Leveling: (+1 lv, +10 HP, +1 attack) Magic Item Gained: gloves of Reflection (major) Magic Item Lost: +1 armor of flight
Losing Warlord: Hruk, the Bugbear Champion of Erythnul Grim's Warband: Hruk, the Bugbear Champion of Erythnul, Kong the Mountain Orc, orc champion, red samurai- SUPPORT- bugbear footpad, orc brute Warlord XP: +250 XP / +250 CP Warlord Leveling: none Magic Item Gained: +1 armor Magic Item Lost: none
edit: Realized there was some problems with my data on the new page. The feat I took was empowered spell (mentioned on the retroactive update, but my post was so small you could have easily skipped over it. And Yukora the chraal should only now be hitting lv 1. He got 500 xp in week 29. In week 30 I lost to Richard 2 when he critted my cleric with an orc chmapion so no points for that week. I just gained the 2nd 500 for this weeks match.
Summary
Yet another game of bad dice rolls (on both sides, but mainly for oldcoast) I started the first few rounds by buffing my efreet (first bears endurance, then sheild of faith). He got control of the owlbear first and double moved it toward my commander. I gained control next round and sent it over to him. I then used my chraal to breath on his brute + orc champ and they both took full dmg which killed the brute. He moved his sam to hit and missed the chraal. My chraal then made a full and hit with one attack. I won next turn and made the red rout with chraal. I then made a full attack on his orc champ with efreet, he passed his moral leaving him at 20. He moved and got hit by a gobo and killed it + cleaved to efreet putting him at 50 and the champ at 15. Then he move the mountain orc to the efreet and missed. My azer went up and hit the champ for 10. He feared my azer and it ran the champ hit and cleaved to efreet. I won next turn and Talla used her swift flight and used inflict mod on the champ killing it. The efreet hit the mountain twice (passed moral on first hit). He attack Talla with the foot pad puting her at 30, then used his fear spell making her run (missed on aoo). He won next turn and hit my efreet with footpad puting it at 10. Then he made a risky move by moving in to attack the efreet with his commander. He got a 19 overall (not enough cause shield of faith). I went and landed a crit on the commander and it ran. 2nd on footpad missed. Talla made her MC and I moved my chraal towards his commander(3 squares away, not enough for his reach sadly). Won int and moved to base commander with chraal (hoping to hit it and end the game before efreet dies. The attack missed. Efreet hit on bugbear footpad once and it passed its moral. 2nd attack was a 1. He killed the efreet with the footpad and he returned the favor with death strike. His commander kept routing and on a aoo I killed it with the chraal. It was a good game but the dice on vassal usually seems to determine the outcome.

| REPORT: AngryIrish(LE) vs. Zippy(CG) Zippy (CG) VP = 150 (100%), AngryIrish (LE) VP = 108 (72%)
Winning Warlord: Rodus (Zippy/CG) Rodus' Warband: Rodus, Archmage, Eberk, Pusill the Elf Warrior Warlord XP: +1000 XP / +1500 CP Warlord Leveling: none Lieutenant: 500 XP to Eberk Lieutenant Leveling: +1 SPL, +5HP, [] Bless(1st) Magic Item Gained: (Maj) Drums of Panic (All creatures between 4 and 12 Radius make MC) Magic Item Lost: (Med) Ring of Minor Cold Resistance, traded in
Losing Warlord: Kane (AngryIrish/LE) Kane's Warband: Kane, 2 x Gauth, Direguard, 3 x Zombie Warlord XP: +250 XP / +250 CP Warlord Leveling: none Magic Item Gained: (Med) Helm of Giant Strength (+2 Attacks) Magic Item Lost: (Min) +1 Armor
Summary
The sparse battfield, with only an owlbear between the enemy camps, immediately came to life. Kane's troops had just shuffled lifelessly into line when the archmage took a bold and risky action, dimension doored near Kane, quick cast a mordenkainen sword on him, and ran away. Kane knew his moments were measured, and used his time to organize his troops, sending zombies and the direguard streaming toward the fleeing mage. The gauths unleashed fire blasts and a series of ineffective paralyzing rays at the mage. The direguard charged. Kane himself launched acid arrows at the fleeing caster.
Rodus ran up to cover the mage's retreat, while Eberk buffed the warparty and warmed up some healing spells awaiting the mage's hopeful return. Pusill had a horrible flu, and the whole match fired no closer than 5 feet from an enemy (best attack roll "2" the whole game). The owlbear, simply looking for an easy meal, picked off the first bag of tricks wolf.
The archmage dimension doored back out of the fray, saving a precious few threads of life for his next assault. Kane was pleased to see the owlbear proceed then to follow and attack Rodus himself. Now Rodus was alone across the arena from his kin, and the undead shuffled ever closer. He whacked the owlbear and the mage spelled it, sending it toward an exit. The gauths went to work on Rodus, though he hid as well as possible. Kane then died from the sword spell, slowing the undead and gauths somewhat.
Rodus was fortunate as a pair of blows sunk into the wounded direguard, ending his threat. The mage kept firing at zombies until they were cleaned out. Finally it was a pair of gauths versus a wounded Rodus, a nearly dead archmage, Eberk, and Pusill the cross-eyed elf. Eberk cast spiritual hammer on one gauth, the second wolf moved in to assist Rodus and nearly tripped the gauth up, but not quite. Between Rodus' arrows and the Archmage, the first gauth took serious wounds and fled. The second gauth used the opportunity to polish off the archmage, but not before the gauth received an empowered acid arrow in its bloated floating form.
Rodus ran to confront the flying blob with more acid, this time a breathed stream, and the damaged creature exited silently.
This game was very close. I made an extremely risky move with the opening sword spell, and perhaps should have waited, but this shut down command control, morale support, and a bunch of lost spells by round 3. Had I placed tiles slightly better, the opening move would have been stellar, with the "run away" part actually working. Kane performed well, and put Rodus truly to the test. The game was in many respects much like a chess match, since the archmage and gauths required no rolls to hit. I was most concerned about seeing a beholder, but dual gauths was probably the next toughest band I could have faced. | | There are 10 kinds of people in the world; those who understand binary, and those who don't. He kicked my butt :). The only thing that dragged it out a bit was my extra armor (and armor of displacement/conceal 6) on my giants. The rolls were really weird.. never a deciding factor, but just a wrench in the works at every turn.
I am also writing on a technical nitpick to point out that the magic items in my section are the wrong categories, I traded in a minor potion (since I lost) and got a medium ring. Don't wanna end up with the wrong stuff hehe.. (the actual items are right, btw, it's just the (med) and (maj) that are incorrect.

That was a seriously long game. Granted we had some technical difficulties, but I don't think it ate up that much time. But 5 hours for a game is a loooong time.
I think when you count both sessions our game went about that long also. Ours took a little longer since I was constantly trying to find a spot where my spellcasters were out of sight of the Beholder Twins, but I don't know that that added that much time. My only complaint with playing the higher level warlords, these battles seem to take so much longer.

Summary: This battle was so close!. We gain to the middle and started battle. The Chraal breath weapon the Azer raider the Hero plus the Owl bear. The Champ breath weapon some hobgoblins, chraal and owlbear back. That's pretty much the most interesting stuff until the end. The Champ and Hero could do nothing against Urthok the Berzoken. They missed many atks, so many that it gave the Chraal enough time to own Lady Adriana. Urthok killed the champ and the Hero atked twice, hitting once and the other a crit. Battle over...both warlords dead..The Warforged Hero and Chode remained.

Well Bleed Black and I were finally able to play by connecting directly (Which answers my above question about whether or not that works :)) and finish up our game in a reasonably timely fashion. If you're into watching log files, this one was fairly fun, with lots of back and forth and many tense moments.. also it's a reasonably small game (50 points, no magic items to speak of) so it plays pretty quick. Anyways, here is the nitty gritty, with some fluff :)
Winning warlord's warband experience gained: Inspiring Marshal “Valius”; Graycloak Ranger “SlimShadee” (wolf “Boo”); Ialdabode, Human Psion; Tiles: Assembly tile 4, Ancient Temple, Rock Shrine, Spike Stone Cave Gain 1000 XP (1500 CP) Warlord's leveling options (if any): +1 lvl (+1 att, +10 hp) Lieutenant XP, and who it is going to: 500xp to SlimShadee (Graycloak Ranger) Lieutenant leveling options (if any): no Magic item gained: Wondrous Item: Lute of Withdrawal (better than I initially thought :) ) Magic item lost (if any):
Losing warlord's warband: Mindflayer, nothic, blue(+1 weapon), Tiles, Rumble Assembly, magic cirlce shrine, hall of heroes, Mushroom tangle Experience gained: 250 Warlord's leveling options (if any): Zor'Vahkial gains 1st level (+1 att, +10hp) Magic item gained: +1 armor of Proof against Poison Magic item lost (if any): +1 weapon (trade up) Battle Report:
I had a great time in this game, thanks again Bleed Black! The Owlbear was a HUGE factor in our game, dealing out a good 40 maybe 50 points of damage, in a 50 point game that is a tonne!
Valius’ band had the definite advantage in terms of ranged attacks, but the big Bear in the middle of the room screwed that up most of the time, until the last couple of rounds. Ialdabode made a big difference in this game as I have found he does in most of my games, and of course the GCR laid down some solid damage as well.
I won the first couple of Owlbear rolls and it laid out first blood on BB’s Mindflayer, it was starting to look pretty grim. Within a round or two both his Commander and Nothic were running for the door at 10hps each. But at the end of that round he won the Owlbear roll and based my commander (dealing 10 points in the process, but luckily Valius made morale) . Next round I tried to lay some damage on the bear (that was still at a robust 40 hps, having taken 10 damage in the spike stone cave it started out in), and did, but didn’t kill it. Not only that, but both routing guys made their morale saves and stayed. Of course then BB proceeded to win ANOTHER Owlbear roll, and it loomed large over poor Valius. But a miracle shone on the young commander today, as the bear miraculously missed it’s first attack. The second attack landed but he was able to withstand the blow, counting his blessings for not being trapped in the certain death of a bearhug from that brute.
The following round Valius’ forces finally triumphed over the marauder and were able to turn the tables on the Mindflayer’s rallying troops. A brief skirmish ensued, with a final initiative win by Valius deciding the final result of the battle. In the end only SlimShadee’s poor wolf Boo had been killed, by the vile and surprisingly powerful (two 20’s in a row) Blue; though next activation would have seen the frightened Ialdabode reach the exit too. Valius proclaimed SlimShadee his first lieutenant, as he could not bring himself to name Ialdabode to the position since he was running for the door as the victory blows were being struck far behind him. And there was much rejoicing.

Defeated Warlord: Redgar (LG) Warband: - Sword of Heironeous, 2x Rhek, Warmage, Caravan Guard Experience Gained: 250 XP & 250 Campaign Pts. Leveling options: Redgar will post later. Magic item gained: (Maj).+1 Armor of Invisibilty Magic item lost: (Min).+1 Quickened Scroll (Med).+1 Armor of Arachnidia
I brought along the Celestial Pegasus on the off chance that Redgar brought a Couatl. I figured if nothing else, he could deal out 30 damage to the Owlbear and, with DR5, should be able to hang around for awhile. When I saw the warmage, I was very happy I brought along the Pegasus. He pretty much nullified the Melf's Acid Arrows the Warmage had. When I had the chance to trade the Pegasus for the Warmage, I took it. I was really surprised by the effectiveness of the Wild Elf Raider. I had one attack his Sword with +11 because of Flanking and my commander effect. That was very nice from a 6 point figure.
Points for the match Tullywi 100 and Redgar 38.

BATTLE SUMMARY
Don't let the score fool you, this game was very close all the way until the end and every one of my units was wounded badly. This was also a very long match almost hitting the 4 hour mark. Basically, I knew Robert was expecting Beholders, so I didnt bring any. The map ended up being treasure and torture rooms making a bunch of tight choke points. I basically chopped away at his fodder and although he nailed me with a few quick casts, my saves were quite good this morning. His vampiric hill giant with conceal and his invisible Eye of G were huge pains in the ass, as well as Elvira the spell cannon. A few key ini's and good hits, left him only his Eye, the Giant and Elvira, I brought a bunch of rear units forward to screen for the wounded (20hp) Thaskor and big Ini allowed the Thaskor to move up and pound the Giant dead. The Eye made a comeback crushing Gorn with a godly smite doing 45 damage which routed him, and the Eye also nailed my Effeeti taking down to 15 and routing him. However, both ended up rallying and at this point I just had too many units left for him to counter. Gorn came back to finish the Eye of Grummsh and everyone else chased Elvira around the board until my almost dead (5hp) Efreet routed her and the Direguard finished her off with an critical AoO as she moved toward the exit.
Great Game to Robert as usual, this game came down to chosing a warband with alot of variety to counter his mass arsenal of spells and gear. and having 66 support gave me enough activations to really give him a run for his money. | | Check out The Old Coast my online Greyhawk campaign featuring all maxmini's members!, and.........Champion of Aspect of Zuggtmoy

Not too much to say, I'm kinda tired. I was lucky that BB had poor luck with his rolls otherwise those maws woulda made my life inconvenient. The poor owlbear charged into my ravagers and got smacked around. I missed BB's OC, but then criticalled him on my 2nd attack to kill him, since he'd taken 20 damage from a drider LB. My cleaving tielfing went through the maws and the spirit dealt with a couple of OW. Narrack ran to save his cold weapon from being claimed by Gharag II. But fortune was with Gharag for in the hall of heroes he found an axe charged with electricity, the weapon of a long forgotten hero most likely.

| Just wanted to clarify that my second Lieutenant is a Longstrider Ranger, NOT a Longtooth Barbarian. Sorry if I was not clear, but I was checkin the new page and it has a Longtooth Barb as the Lt. Those that have played against Vad can attest to me never using a Longtooth. Thanks, and again Zippo is a LONGSTRIDER RANGER. Thanks.
**EDIT** Also, I wanted to take Call Lightning as my third level spell instead of snakes swift. I misread the charts the first time and thought that the next level was a 1st level spell, but.....it wasn't. So Call Lightning instead of second snakes swift. well, since either of you have a chance to make it into the tourney playoffs (see standings) we'll do this as per the rules where this is considered a draw and the results are not recorded. | | Join the Eternal Skirmish Campaign.
