I recently learned of your rousing victory over the Cleric of Kord. Congratulations. Until this time I have held out from making an alliance. I was waiting for the perfect partner. Now I see that I have found him.
I see the prediciment you are in. Next week you will be able to bring 3 magic items to battle, but alas, you only have two. Fortunately, I have a way to remedy that small problem. An alliance between the two of us would allow you to trade your one Weapon of Deadly Precision for two of my magic items. Below I have listed the combinations of items I would be willing to trade for my new weapon.
Any two of the following:

| In-story response to the Vina-Gojiro Alliance Offer:
Gojiro's odd, nomadic force set camp in a forest outside of their last battleground, triumphant from what he presumed was a wargame to 'amicably' determine ownership of a few noteworthy pieces of weaponry and armor, but he couldn't rightly be sure if that was all there was to it. The outcome of that battle was still on his mind when Vina's messenger arrived, the message was received with a great deal of hospitality in Gojiro's command tent, with proper refreshments provided to the letter-bearer.
After the preliminaries were dealt with, he read the letter. Gojiro read it very intently and had the classical 'Thinker' look on his face. Then a few seconds later, Gojiro began to laugh. And laugh. And continue to laugh for the better part of five minutes before regaining his composure. "My answer is 'No.' You may be on your way," Gojiro declared, and even provided a pre-emptive reason before 'Why?' could be asked.
"It certainly is a fine offer," Gojiro commented. "I have no need for this blade, and the treasures offered to me sound useful. But did you know that people only make trades that are favorable to them in some way? This is no act of charity; Vina would benefit from this just as much as I, perhaps even moreso." He took on a momentary downcast look, "Yet calling me the perfect partner is premature. My skills have a long way to develop before I could be anyone's flawless ally. Last week when we had to retreat from the caves was proof enough. Untrue flattery won't help your case."
Gojiro rose from his seat, and began to stride towards the opening of the tent. "And more importantly, I have no interest in contributing to favorable circumstances for the likes of your leader. You may leave, I will accept neither the exchange nor the offer to work together." The messenger would be shown out.
Non-Story Response: Alliance offer declined, and sub-sequent trade offer automatically declined due to this. It's actually a really good offer on my end and I should logically say yes to it, but I can't imagine Gojiro agreeing to a trade with Drow or other evil bands. | |

One of his more powerful neighbors, Saliqui Cerine, an elven Bladesinger, would likely kill him on sight just for being a drow.
Veldrin decided it would be in his best interest to appease her for the time being. If he sent a gift, a gesture of peace, it would be one powerful warlord he would not have to worry about - at least for a while. He reached in his pocket and pulled out a magical ring that had been aquired in a recent victory.
"Yes, any military leader would prize this Ring of Command, but I have no use for it. It should be sufficient," Vedrin thought as he fiddled with the ring.
Veldrin wrote up a request for peace to Saliqui in an elven hand, so as to get on her good side. (Though it nauseated him to write in the language of surface elves)He gave the message and the ring to one of his servants and instructed him to deliver it to Saliqui Cerine.

"Mort, please send these Sandals to Veldrin. I know he is a Dark Elf, but he has pleased me today and we shall have a neutral alliance with this Drow for now," explained Saliqui as she walked over to her Vault and pulled out a pair of magical sandals which she then handed to Morthrug. "Yes my Lady," said Mort as he prepared to set out agian..
