Summary: This was a somewhat hollow victory, as it was won almost entirely because of a series of really really unfortunate rolls by Darksteed...something that doesn't mix with a warband in which all but one creature are concealed.
First, I want to credit Darksteed with a well played game. If it were up to to that alone he would have faired much better, and may have won. The dice just weren't on his side.
Basically, my Goliath survived an entire round's barrage of attacks, most of which either critically missed or missed due to conceal. After being stunned and critically hit twice by a Gith Monk (once by unavoidable strike) and hit by the Half-Orc, he survived two activations and hit Darksteed's Half Orc Paladin with a critical hit as well as a normal hit. After his Githzerai Monk failed his morale on the next round, Darksteed conceeded. I can't say I blame him...the rolls were just plain wrong in this game.
Good game, Darksteed. I hope the dicebot treats you better in your future Vassal endeavors.

Hmm. I guess the power does say that it "gains" 5 HP, it doesn't say it heals 5 HP. Still seems kinda odd.
Yes, it is odd, but I checked ahead of time and it does say "gain" rather than "heal". Keep in mind though, undead with life / level drain are not worded "heal" or "negative damage", they also say "gain".
Well I also stupidly forgot to add the +2 CR from my ring (Should be CR=1 for level 4, +1 for Tome, +1 for Cost+5, +2 for item), meaning I played the game at CR=3 instead of CR=5, DUH! | |

Summary: Summary: By the Skin of Urthok’s Teeth
This was Bleys game from the beginning and the dice turned on him in the end.
My Beholder only did like 40 dmg the entire game and then passed on to wherever unproductive eyes go in the afterlife.
So how did Urthok hold on … just dumb luck or was it his new Lt in training The Duegar Champ. I will say that without his trusted sidekick he would have been a goner. Chalk it up to conceal and a nasty case of rompin and stompin from a nasty tempered dwarf.

| Well, it appears my internet being back up was just to mess with my head and get me excited for a match, only to yank the rug out from under me and laugh at my misfortunes... Stupid Comcast...
Anyway, I've scheduled times with tullywi and Veliq, and if I can't be there, I'll have to withdraw from the match. In accordance with the EC rules I've E-mailed them about this as well.

Whoops! It's my first feat. I'll go with Augmented Summoning. Not much else jumps out at me. Yeah, that's right. Invulnerability. The names of the magic items are so similar it's just one of those things. Maybe for V3 change the names to make sure nothing is too similar.

Summary: After some initial jitters entering the battlefield, Donavin and his warband found they had little to fear. The Xen'Drik Champion in a Sacred Circle put the hurt on Daufig with his ranged attacks, but morale remained high. Once all units were in melee, the tide turned in Donavin's favor. The Dwarves made quick work of the Orcs and the Maw, while a halfling in platemail, though not a strong fighter, is a hard target to hit. The XC's conceal saved him from a critical blow from one of the GDFs, but Sel'indra eventually had second thoughts and routed. The Xen'drik Champion was not far behind. | |

Summary: Robbdaman played a good game, but bad rolls at the wrong time kept him from victory. Both warlords were eliminated from the game before anything else was. Tarsal was critically hit by Rikka and killed, and Mirdranius was routed by a full attack from the Justicator.
Afterwards, the forces of each warlord clashed in an out of command battle. Both sides were plagued with pathetic rolls(my Halfling Veteran rolled two 1s in a row on attack rolls, then in a following round, rolled a 1 and a 2 when he needed a 5 to hit. Mirdranius failed his morale save, critically missed once and failed to rally)Both sides suffered considerable loses.
In the end, after Nebin was slain by the Justicator and Rikka fled after being hit by his second attack, Tarsal's companions came out victorious but with their leader mortally wounded, it seemed an empty victory.
Good game robbdaman! Enjoy wreaking havoc with your new Anarchic weapon.

Summary:
Basically, the game was "buff up Jinju and let him take care of everything." The Ring of Protection, Shield of Faith, and Divine Protection got Jinju up to a rediculous 30 AC, and even flanking Xen'driks attacking at +15/+10 were having a very hard time hitting him. Add Bear's Endurance, Magic Weapon, and Bless, and Jinju became a wrecking machine. The only thing that really slowed him down was conceal. At one point all 4 Xen'driks were flanking Jinju, and still he was only hit once by a crit. It makes a man feel good to tell his opponent that a 29 misses.
Anyway, following Jinju came the Justice Archon and Grod. They both got a few good shots in (and a crit or two as well). Suddenly there were statues all over the place. Lidda and a Xen'drik or two worked over the Justice Archon, eventually turning him into a statue. That would be the only casualty I'd suffer during the game, even though one of the Xen'driks snuck away from the front lines and got to Lord Jamros. Eberk, the Man-at-Arms, and the REAL Lidda swarmed on the Xen'drik, and Lidda got in a few good sneak attacks. Eventually, after dealing with the rest of the opposing warband, Grod made it back to the fray to rout the last Xen'drik Champ before harm could come to Lord Jamros. | |

| Report for Santee Cooper (Veliq LG) and Urthok the Viscious (Lurch LE) will be delayed due to the holidays and the recent internet problems of Lurch. Game scheduled for completion Monday night at 7pm CST, report to follow. The winner will most likely level (unless the warlord dies).

Thanks for posting! There are several late games this week - the results of your Week 49 late match will not affect your stats until Week 51 begins.
You may however sign up for Week 50 (stats for week 50 would remain the same as Week 49 stats). | |
