Sign-Ups Closed until March:
Rather than one big tournament that goes on until well after War Drums comes out, instead these are a bunch of smaller, ~8 person tournaments that all will end right about when War Drums comes out, so we can have the first big tournament be with War Drums minis. Because of when I want them all to end, the deadline to sign-up for a tournament has passed, until War Drums sign-ups start.

| If I read this right...I'm interested in a 200pt constructed warband to be "played anytime". I'll e-mail you the warband details asap or as soon as I come up with one.

| I would be interested in playing in the draft (one question, you open both boxes, but still pick one mini, or do you get to pick two?)
I will have to say the anytime during the week works best for me. I am generally availble Tues-Friday 8pm-12am Eastern US time zone (GMT-5). Saturdays & Sundays upon checking.
Anything else you want to know?
EDIT: Sealed would work as well, if that will be starting sooner. | |

WEEKLY PLAY ANYTIME scheduling (I cannot commit to a day or time more than about a week ahead, so this is the only scheduling format that works for me)
TIMES: typically 7:30-10:00 PM CST start times work best

| okay, not to reign on anyones parade and I know Dagni personally so this isnt a hit at him at all but I am having a big problem understanding the minis community. Especially the vassal players... and I am sorry for saying this but this is eating me up alive...
Why the hell can everyone else in the maxminis forums get players and get people interested in their games.... I have spent over a year developing an automated site and its like pulling teeth with you damn people to get some people signed up.... I mean I took all the work out of it and even did a DCI rating system in my league but still I have problems getting people interested...... yet anytime someone else starts something all you damn people go running in like the flood gates have been lifted... WHAT the F!?
Sorry I had to spout here DAGNI but this has just really been pissing me off about all the vassal players on here...
I am glad you can get a group together for this but it seems not one damn minis player will give me any love for all the hard work I have done. I mean ANYONE can start a league through just the maxminis forums and post everything and do everything by hand but everyone just ignores my site I built... ARRGGGHHHH!!!!!

GE, I think this tourny is different because people want to experiment with pulls, builds, etc. for the upcoming Wardrums Release. It is also a different format than the EC or your campaign. I personally appreciate the effort you have put into your automated site and am currently online to play in the Epic Campaign. I think your campaign might be more of a commitment of time as well. While I understand your frustration, I think it is like comparing apples and oranges. | |

God Emperor, you have created a fantastic system, unfortunately there isnt much long term interest in "campaign style" tourneys as once people get a load of how badly warlord building and additional magic items screw the core rules to hell, games just becomes pointless. thats been my turn off to the EC and eventually your tourney. As you know I put a ton of personal time into the EC and that's how I feel, so imagine how the casual players who know better feel.
IF you applied your system to a 200 point constructed format, where everyone signed up one warband for an entire tournament and you used the tourney format (swiss rounds with DCI numbers) you'd probably have a 100 people sign up in a day, Well not a 100 but alot![:)]

| Hey Dagni. This is CyrusTroy. Please sign me up for the 200pt constructed tourney only. I would like to do a 100pt constructed but I don't think there's much interest.
As for campaigns, I like to build warbands. I like to try different things, things you can't do in competitive DCI tourneys. I like making a warband that can take advantage the scenario that we're doing that week instead of just bringing the most popular metagame warband. I think GE site is the best on the web and most of the players are fun to play against, and most don't give up like bad sports when they may lose 2 or 3 in a row.

Hmm that's a good point, GodEmperor, have you considered setting up a campaign-free Tourney style section? The campaign thing is cool, but as OC said, a lot of people just want to play competitive 200-point matches without all that other stuff. I can't personally commit any more time to all this stuff, although everytime someone mentions your epic campaign I go through the whole internal struggle again! :) In fact I might still try to get into it hehe..
To get back to it though, imagine if your site were set up to arrange the tourney formats that Dagni has been talking about.. it would make the admin of it so much easier. I guess it sounds like re-doing the whole thing.. which I can't imagine you could possibly want to do.. but if you could have both campaign and tourney set up at the same time, they'd probably both promote each other! Either way I understand your frustration but I think OC nailed the reason it's happened perfectly.

GE, I am backing OC here. I was a EC supported and didnt do your campaign, but right now I am not interested in campaigns like that, but in just regular tourneys. I have some notes about your campaign, drop me an email and we can chat on that. But this is very different than campaign as this is about tournament season to a point, | |

| IMPORTANT: If you have signed up for this, check the Player List for your name to be sure that I entered your personal choices correctly.
Also, after giving most of a day to make sure that everyone in the tourney really does want to be in it, I will be starting the first Sealed tournament. I will need to email each player his Sealed pull, so if you're signed up for Sealed, make sure your email is in your maxminis profile, or that you've emailed me directly already.

GE - I played in the EC twice and just didnt get into it. I skirmish on Vassal a bit but mostly I just read posts and think about the game. To be honest, I was obsessing about the game in not entirely healthy amounts and have actually started playing a MMO again to break up the OCD tendencies (my wife isnt buying that logic btw).
The ONLY reason I saw this was Dagni posted about it in the skirmish forum.. | |

Hellspike maps are out of my hands. There's another thread on this forum where people have been asking for updates, you might check there. I intend to allow any player that submitted a Hellspike map with an alternative (Magma Keep is already on Vassal, btw) to switch to the Hellspike map as soon as they come out, even if that's not until round 2 of the tourney.
And, yes, you'll hopefully be getting an email from me in around 12 hours, with your 2 'boosters' of Underdark. Simply respond with your warband and map, and wait for the pairings.
