Week 63 and V3 Launch Tournament Round 1
Scenario: Warlord's Tomb
WEEKLY NOTES AND UPDATES:
If you haven't played for a few weeks, please make sure you browse this section of the weeks you have missed so you are up on any changes... last week
- EC V3 First Week! Here it is. I've been making lots of little changes over the past week, so please ensure you read the complete rules (or at least don't complain when you didn't know something [)]). Any further updates/changes to the rules as we work out bugs will be summarized in a specific post, so you don't need to read the whole thing again to find little changes. Please post if you find anything from a typo to a massive loophole we missed =)
- The Tournament has it's own thread here.
- What are those Asterixes? all the V2 warlords have had asterixes added to their name on the stats page. As warlords are converted to V3 they will be removed =)
- Tip o' the Week: Jai has created a comprehensive list of Lts and Warlords and what they can take Thanks Jai! This is permanently linked to at the top of the stats page.

- Frequently Asked Questions
can be found in this thread << this is FAQ from V2. Although it may be helpful, it also may no longer be accurate. V3 includes pop-up FAQ by hovering your mouse over the  scattered throughout the rules.
- Log files can be viewed here and should be sorted by week #. Upload log files here, ensure the filename begins with the week number and identifies both players.
- Stats and Standing are posted here or the Eternal Campaign link at the top tight of this site. It is each players responsibility to ensure their stats have been correctly updated and to post clarifications to any ??? left by the admin
- Scenario information for the current round can be found here.
- Deadlines are Sunday midnight (GMT -8) to post your match results (including late games and unplayed), Monday midnight for the weekly schedule to be posted, and Sunday midnight (GMT -8) to sign up for the following week's games. If you are late signing up, go ahead any way as there is a chance you can be put on the schedule if it hasn't already been posted =).
- Hall of Fame is posted here. If you think he is worthy, nominate your warlord for the Eternal Campaign Hall of Fame.
- Promote the Eternal Campaign by adding this link to your signature on maxminis, wizards, and any other board you frequent.
- Game Reports should be posted using this template or something similar
- Do Not Post Disputes...email them to me. Dispute, penalty, and other guidelines can be found in this thread

| Scheduling problems:
1. Aravis. You signed up Saliqui (Lvl 10) but the next closest non-touney player was Lvl 5 [:(].
2. S1N50. I'm not sure you actually singed up, you posted your warlord conversions so I assumed so....but if not, PLEASE let me know asap so I can fix the sched!
3. A bit out of the ordinary sched creation tihs week, and with the V# conversions...I'm sure I missed someone or two or three. please let me know! | |

| Galnew, you might want to update the linked report template to match the EC Writeup; CP and losers LT XP...
After 3 weeks, won't there only be 2 people left in B and C? Or is it not an elimination tourney?
Also, doesn't a Victory Point count give an advantage to higher-level (and therefor higher warband) warlords?
If s1n50 doesn't play, will I be playing Zephyr's LE?

I'd assume it's like a standard tourney where only the finals are elimination matches. Outside of that you're just playing for ranking in order to get into the finals, which is determined by who has the highest record (in most cases win/loss, but in ours VP).

Hope you get good pairings then. [:p] More realistically it'll be done with a total percentage of possible victory points from your matches rather than a flat out total.
Also galnew, do you have any links to what the tourney prizes actually are? Since they're not in the magic items section of the V3 rules. I found the pool C one (after poking around the happyhikers webserver), but I won't link to that since I can't say it's official... | |

| Honestly I am swamped and I do not think I would be available for games as I would need to be for this week. That is the reason I did not sign up for the tourney. I appreciate you assuming in my behalf (putting my warlords in the tourny) but I don't want to bring down the palying expereince because I am unavailable or rushed to get a match in. I might be able to play one warlord Damocles this week in the tourney but that would be it. If playing one warlord doesn't help you scheduling then count me out, I am sure I won't be able to play more than one warlord. I will have to catch a non tourney game in the future. Sorry if this totally screws up all your hard work.
P.S. My email hrmanager57@hotmail.com is checked pretty regularly. And V3 is looking great! | |

Orthuk - also gained a level last week: feat dash, (med) armor of shadow made (maj) - lose it. Rolled (med) armor of charging +5. Boots of Ethereal turn into amulet of ethereal.
Gwar gets CFX: pushback for followers
Raven Eyes - Both damage weapons kept. Lose both minors and break (maj) armor of blast flesh -> rolled melee weapon of monstrous humanoid foe to compensate. Raven Eyes will take stunning attack in exchange for flensing strike which is now gone.
Trisha Takinawa picks up CFX: +5 damage from human casters' spells, and +1 CR too. Hasted weapon changes to new one.

| Arty is going to use my new Tome of Clear Thought, giving him a permanent +1 init (woot.. he's at 1 now! :)) and +1 DC on all spells.

Summary:
Terrain placement left Adrik a clear shot to the shrine along with cover from the archers, and Larry had a whole lot of difficult terrain to get by to the shrine. Adrik was in control of the shrine the entire game, however the wraith never showed.
After picking off two fodder pieces sent in to prevent the wraith from appearing, Adrik ran out to get the last Xeph. The Steelheart critted Adrik but he stood his ground. After Adrik fell back to the shrine, Larry ran in to prevent the wraith from appearing. Then a blow from Adrik and the Xen'drik took Larry down. The Steelheart ran in for a last attempt to down Adrik (who was 1 hit from death), but missed by one. The steelheart routed promptly afterwards. | |

Her +1 hasted melee weapon changes to a +1 natural hasted weapon (I assume we can change weapons to natural now if we so choose?)
Her ring of command and +1 armor of one mighty blow were exchanged last week for a ring of elemental resistance, which turns this week into a ring of energy adaptation, as we discussed, Gal.
Lieutenant Karl, Adventuer gains the cfx of Followers gain pushback.
Kevin Xornbo
Keeps his cost of 29, adds 1 to his CR, and takes the additional cfx of Outsiders gain +2 ac.
Exchanges Improved Initiative feat for Cohort feat (Cohort is Aasimar Favored Soul)
Gives the 1000 exp on chraal to Herman the Kid the Aasimar Favored Soul, who has been in most of my battles (it's my understanding we can do this, correct me if it's wrong, we just needed to have had a lieutenant eligible play in the warband to transfer the exp). He gains + 1 caster level, +5 HP, 1st level spell of shield of faith.
If possible, changed name of lieutenant Princess Dragomom the Justice Archon to Maxine of Arc the Justice Archon.
I need someone to witness me rerolling his belt into a legal misc item.

Last week we were using v2 rules. I did a trade with Valkerata under those rules. Orthuk traded elemental resistance ring for ring of command and armor of one mighty blow. I understand that in V3 we're not doing trades, but this trade should go through since it was during v2 rules. | |

Summary:
Aeriden's band weathered the onslaught of area of effect attacks early, losing only the healer (two chaos hammers and two fireballs, one empowered). The bulk of the fighting occurred in the warlord's tomb, where Maso and Eadrain closed off the entrance to gain the favor of the ancient spirit. The ghost chased off Aramil, then landed a hit on a slaad. Maso managed to kill one slaad, but then both he and Eadrain were killed by the nasty little chaos beasts. Aeriden finally arrived in the tomb and routed the second slaad, who didn't return to the fray. When only Aravis and a badly wounded Xen'drik were left of the forces of chaos, they quit the field, leaving it to Aeriden's forces (I had the sword of Heironeous, uninjured couatl, the wraith, scout and favored soul left). | | | |

Summary:
We knew that their scout had a head start on us, and had probably already navigated the complex and found the burial chamber. Gorram hurried in and was able to stop the warforged from looting until reinforcements could arrive. Once the Arcanix Guard was able to guard the area, Gorram was free to attack the cleric and wizard.
TINK, the cleric, was able to escape from Gorram, but not without becoming seriously injured. When TINK went to reinforce his scout, the Arcanix was able to finish him off. Gorram chased down the wizard, and then returned to help finish of the scout.
In the end, we were able to secure the Tomb without sustaining any losses. | |

Summary:
It all started with Pike issuing a challenge to see who truly runs the Goblin Underworld and earn the title Gobfather.
I had a chraal lead the offense and a zhentrarim protecting Aoi, my lieutenant. The chraal ran forward, drawing Pike's fire and engaging both of his half-orcs. A lucky shot from my bow left Pike poisoned right from the beginning, making his defeat inevitable.
The chraal's breath baddly injured Pike and chased off one of his half-orcs. At this time, the zhentrarim recruited a wraith. Between the beatings unleashed on the half-orc from the chraal and the wraith (as well as a few pings from Aoi), Pike was left alone and on death's door. Aoi put him out of his misery with a final mind thrust.
And with this flawless victory, I claimed the epithet. All hail Pivot the Gobfather! | |

| Gal, all warlords are up-to-date, ship shape and all that jazz.
OK, having given V3 a proper going-over, I've found a few ammendments I need to make and requests, too. First the ammendments:
1) Eshe should be at 45HP, not 50HP. That's +5, not +10. The new martial levelling changes this, I believe.
OK, now onto the requests, all based on last weeks matches (wk 62), as they were played with V3 active:
1) Brenna Deunda would like to request handing over 125 Lt. XP to 'Crypt, Terror Wight'. She did not know about new Lt. XP at the time.
2) Aphrodite Treesong would also like to do a similar thing with 'Tasselhoff, Halfling Wizard'.
3) Dwain Twinblade would also like to grant 125 Lt. XP to 'Barkskin Underdark, Quaggoth Slave'.

Summary:
Skeer won terrain init (and shrine placement) and got a clear route to the shrine again, with mushroom tangles surrounding most of the other entrances. The warband took cover in the shrine and treasure room the first round while Satra's band advanced (and Satra took an empowered Melf's). Satra advanced with her badger and wolf soon after with the archer and wand expert taking up sniping positions. The Satra's wolf routed to a duergar, in pair with Skeer's duergar warrior turning tail. Aramil enfeebled one of the champions, but soon hit the foul end of a melf's and ran off the board.
With Satra in dire straights, the wand expert routed Grotto, who came back later that round. The other duergar champ pulled a clutch critical on Satra to eliminate her on his last swing. The badger swooped in to take out Sky, but the badger then fell to the same champion to down Satra. Grotto then got his revenge by using his thundering weapon to fell the wand expert in one hit.
Sensing the weakness of Satra's army, the Wraith emerged from his tomb to follow a duergar champion out to the Steelheart archer and deliver the final blow. | |

Not much to say in this one. His duergar beat on my champ, my champ routed his commander. His deurgar finished off my champ, moved away from the tomb to threaten/kill my commander, and I somehow survived long enough to get a wraith out. Wraith did the 5 damage necessary to route his duergar.
