| I was thinking, just as an add-on and even a way to promote the campaign, of introducing Eternal Campaign Medals
It's all kind of spawning from zephyr's little write up - that this is a massive continent/world wide war (universe wide? we've been to the astral plane, plane of fire, almost went to Mechanis etc =)
And what massive war is complete without Medals and Honours?
I was thinking we could create some mini-icons that we could place in our signatures, each would be for a significant accomplishment, and each have it's own name.
Medal of XXXXX
Medal of YYYYY
Bertha for example might have a string of five or six medals, little icons, each signifying something.
Initial ideas for medals:
1. Tournament win (and aretefact holder) these are so rare, I wouldn't even mind each winner/artefact having their own medal.
2. Consecutive winning streak (set a number, say 3-5, then add a bar or dot for every 3-5 on top of that, or change the colour for 3/6/9 or 5/10/15 depending on what we choose
3. Epic...epic warlords must get a medal... Medal of ???? (can't think of any good names)
4. Promoted Lieutenants
5. A win vs 30% support troops (it's almost 50/50 chance to win, but they are so rare it would be an interesting one =)
Thoughts? Comments?
I hope someone will be interested in spearheading and doing the work for this...then we can introduce it as official!
Just planting a seed if anyone want to water and fertalize.
If icons are too much work, we could even just do stars, or some simple symbols, with each colour and shape meaning something different.... but icons would be cool =P

| Actually, rather than putting them in the Signature, you could put them right on the stats page for the characters.
Let's face it, we're the ones that will be impressed and looking at the things. If you wanted to, you could still put a link in your sig. THat might help draw interrest our way too.
With respect to the HOF comparison, this would be a relatively less subjective criteria for fame over time.
Also, it should be clear whether you're talking about medals or trophys. Contests give trophys, longer term accomplishments would lend toward medals.

Actually, I see it more of as the abbreviated version of the hall of fame than watered-down. It's another nice way to size up your opponent before facing him if you know what particular deeds he's done. It'd be much easier than sifting through the current hall of fame too, especially if accomplishments were somewhat codified. And if he keeps it in his sig, all the info you need will be in his post in that week's signup. | |

| I see the Hall of Fame as being the highest accomplishment, with perhaps the most prestigous campaign medal/ribbon/star/decoration associated with it.
These things would be more available for everyone.
Just think it would be cool to have a bunch of little icons in your sig...people will se a few different guys with them and start asking "what's that mean?"
(like I did after seeing so many people with these "Champion of.." things in their sigs!) | |

-Rise to Power: Like the winning streak one, but only count the number of wins you got until your very first loss. One medal awarded if the streak is X (3? 5?) wins or longer.
-Champion of Chaos/Evil/Good/Law: XX% or more (70+?) of your wins have been against the opposite alignment. Can only hold this for one of the alignments your warband possesses.
-Mark of the Duelist: Medal for every X (1?) times your warlord has personally eliminated the opposing warlord.
-Flawless Victory: Each time you have completely denied the opponent victory points.
-Purple Heart: Each time your warlord has been reduced to <= 10 hp but not been eliminated. | |

In terms of how you're envisioning this works, I could look at doing a few different things. Integrating them with the stats page would probably be the best. Depending on what database schemas look like, we could possibly have some of them auto generated even (though since I don't know what they look like, this is speculation). I could write up SQL queries at least, but jai would have to implement them as I don't know ASP. We'd most likely have each award have a tooltip appear over it like the ones in the rules. Lastly we could make up a snippits page that you could use to copy for your sigs if desired.
Oh, one more medal while worthless might be the version of which each warlord was started under. Just for an idea of how long they've been around. | |

Awesome (love the V2/V1 medal idea =)
I would help but...you know.
Let's start by getting a list of medals and icons for them. Jai is the main man for the stats page, so once you have things sorted out a bit, send him an email to coord.
My only request would be not to have more than one medal for the same type of thing, instead, add a line or dot or colour to the icon to signify x2, x3, x4 etc =)

| Here's the starts of the pages for the rules... Once we solidify what the medals are going to be, I'll start seeing how we can tie them in with the stats pages.
Some medals still don't have images. Some might have their image change (looking for a better epic caster insignia...).
