Crap, forgot to sign up last week. Oh well, gives me time to work on my qualifier band. Anyway, if you still need one more, I'll put Alric in the mix if it's alright. He's guaranteed a level-up next time he plays. Also I have to avenge Urthok's 50 million losses to Mystique.

Added lurch_E_bean (CG) vs Tullywi (LG).

Updated stats for the last week. Please check for accuracy.

Takasi, Pepro gained 1000 XP in your Week 17 game. This puts him at 2750 XP and level 2. Your report said he did not level. Which is correct?

Kiirnodel and Takasi, I need to know the status of your week 18 game. I will call it a draw when I start to make up the Week 20 schedule unless I hear something from you first.

To all, remember there is a penalty of Campaign Point loss for missing your game. This penalty would come into play when someone schedules a game by e-mail or on the board and then does not show up at that time. If follow up e-mails do not get a response from the person who missed the game, only then will the penalty be enforced. Personally, I do not want to do that. However, if you look at the bottom of the stats, those folks with negative scores provide a good reminder to not just skip out on your game.

Conceeding does not trigger the Campaign Point Loss effect. The results of conceeding a game are: 1) No one wonders when the game will take place, 2) both players get XP and an item, and 3) campaign administration is much easier.

Alric is level 2 currently, so my match with tullywi should be 100 pts. with tullywi getting 10 pts. of support units.

AH! In the process of finally getting settled in to the new home from college, getting my new job and travelling back to Bowling Green and back again, it slipped my mind until Zippy reminded me.

I'll e-mail Takashi to set up a time.

[edit:] I can't find Takasi's email adress, how do I contact Takasi?

Click on Takasi's blue name in the stats block. That should get you his e-mail address. If that does not work, hover your mouse over his blue name, and the e-mail address might show up on the bottom of your browser.

Kiirnodel, I haven't heard anything from you. Either email me, or preferably just post when you're available.

I can only play tonight, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday this week. I'm available after 6pm Pacific on any of these days. This weekend I'm going to Kublacon in San Francisco. (Anyone else here going?)

Aesoph and I are scheduled for Thursday at 7pm Pacific. Tullywi, let me know what day will work for you. I'm pretty sure the game with Aesoph will be a quick one, so if you want to play then at 9pm Pacific I can do that too.

I was fearing an Orc champ cleaving through my little horde, instead the ZWD hit the table and I realized he didn't need to cleave, he can canopener for 10 at a time and just work through them in the forever it would take me to get him down. Luck was on my side. Second round he based an Champ and Azer with the Dragon with first activation. WIth my activations I then swarmed, flanked, and put some hurt on the dragon. Next round Dragon breathes. Takes out three Skirm, hits a thug that saved, and hits a Champ that doesnt save and routes (he already had a MM on him). Another round of hits (some misses this time, but still rolling well, except init, he won every init except the first). His Sarge comes in and does a few hits. Next he bases my sorceror and misses with the Sarge. Sorceror flameburst sarge fails save. Deathlok cause fears sorceror who fails save and routes. Sarge hits for 15. (weird route question I have to pose to Guy) Blue comes around hits sarge with mindthrust causing him to route. (he would keep routing) He hits Snig with Zomb, and MM him, but he makes his save (a big one) (round earlier he rolled 1 on attack on Snig). Kobold Champs finish off ZWD (Champ 2 made MC and came in charging). Azer charges Deathlok, hits for 10. Blue moves to flank, Snig comes in misses deathlok, Kobold Champ moves around and hits for kill.

ok, vassal is bein retarded. Its late and i was gettin my butt whopped anyhow, so zip, i'm gonna concede our match. Lets say that Kane just wasn't feelin it today and decided to leave his skelys to their doom. You win and get all the benefits. We'll roll for our items later. Does this sound good to you? if not, then we can finish it tomorrow or later. Too tired to think right now.[:(]

It is inevitable, Mister Anderson.

I was set up from the start with a huge advantage, having a Gold Dragon Facing the fire-based Red Wizard. I will post after we roll items - meet some EC person to vouch and for your rolls sometime this week (tomorrow night?) and let me know what you rolled up. I'll post and upload what fragmented logfile we have.

Woulda likely happened: Finish round with...healer moves to Dragon, one mino skel taken down by a horde of maa (etc.), SoH and one or more weenies base Kane. Next round healer +15HP on dragon, and dragon downs last mino skell and 1 zombie. Grim takes aoo, prob still above half, casts scare again and several weenies flee. Then weenies hit last zomb, and remainder swarms Kane. Tail of tale.

If the question is: Does a creature that's routing (ie from a fear spell) have to make another morale check if an aoo or other damage reduces it below half hp; then the answer is no.

Having or not having an existing commander rating does not effect a unit's ability to gain Lt. XP. The criteria is only Intellegence at 8 or above (from RPG side of card) and less than or equal to 35 points.

We also talked about the summons as a Lt. issue, but I don't remember off hand what we decided.

LT must have:

Int 8 or more, not difficult or incited, 35 pts. or less, commander rating less than or equal to Warlord's CR, and was not eliminated from the battle (i.e. survived and stayed).

BATTLE SUMMARY

As Kane approached the open battlefield, a thick bead of sweat formed on his brow. He'd brought his trusted Blue, Gamora, and with them a reknowned Red Wizard. Thea was fielding human and dwarven foot soldiers, a healer, and a powerful gold dragon. The gold was recruited to handle the gauth or red wizard Kane was expected to bring in tow.

Thea's troops assembled in tight formation in one of the few protected rooms in the dungeon, awaiting the approach of Kane's forces. The Gold scouted the area, and took the opportunity to attack a stray mongrelfolk. The gold was also in the open to draw enemy spell fire and test tjhe opposition's abilities. As Kane's troops headed North and across the dungeon toward Thea, they spotted the dragon and let loose several potent magic missile shots. The gold bit down on the mongrelfolk and headed back to base for full healing.

Meanwhile, Kane had summoned his trademark undead entourage, including a pair of towering horned skeletons and a couple of zombies. The red wizard held back in reserve as Kane's cluster of minions approached Thea's defensible room. As the psions and spellcasters moved into position, the dragon streaked forth and charred both blues and the deathlock into smoldering, crisp heaps on the stone floor. One minotaur skeleton was badly burned as well.

Thea gave the charge order and a host of footsoldiers poored out, shielded from the wizard's dangerous fireballs by the dragon. Thea herself summoned a pair of Azers to assist in toppling the skeletons. A confusing melee ensued, the dragon charged the wizard inflicting a severe bit. The burnt skeleton charged the dragon, landing a deep wound with its oversized axe. As the wizard retreated, the dragon bite again. Finally, the badly wounded dragon was able to pounce on the wizard to remove the fireball threat.

Kane headed away from the dragon, using a scare on four of Thea's common solders, causing only one to flee - Thea's command presence was strong, and the call to stand ground was heeded well. With one skeleton an inch from destruction and the other surrounded by troops ready to strike at will, Kane invoked a self preservation retreat. A healer was en route to the gold and likely to restore its health, his wizard lay eviscerated in a spreading pool of red blood, both skeletons faced imminent demise, and with only a pair of zombies for protection, Kane left the dungeon in haste to recruit new foul creatures.

AngryIrish played very well, using his commander effects to great advantage, but based on band composition was not able to unleash the most potent fireball spells from the wizard. It was still an exciting match, as one slip of placement, movement calculation, or LOS could have been disastrous for the swarm of low level LG's. The file upload will be incomplete, as Vassal was not cooperative last night.

Perhaps this has been covered before, if so I apologize:

Do support troops count against the normal 12 creature limit?

Also, if support troops do not count against the 12 limit, it is possible to have more creatures than fit on an assembly tile - what then?

TIA!

Support troops do not count toward the 12 unit limit for a warband. If all of the warband troops and support troops do not fit on an assembly tile, place them on the first squares outside the assembly tile. This placement should begin as closely as possible to a place where the figures could legally move off the assembly tile and onto the battle grid.

If anyone knows of an offical ruling on this issue, please post it or the link to it. Otherwise (for the rare chance this comes up) lets go with this answer.

I haven't seen an official rule on the subject either, I think your answer is fine, as long as we stipulate that every available space on the assembly tile is filled before we flow over to the battle grid. I suppose the highest you could go under standard rules would be 24 creatures (12 Graycloak Rangers + 12 wolf minions) or maybe 23 (11 Graycloaks + 11 wolves + Commander). In the campaign if 75 is the highest level of support troops, I suppose we could go as high as 37 creatures (12 regular + 25 Orc Warriors support) that would be a funny sight.

Takasi (CG) has a level on me, shouldnt that mean I get 7pt support troops in a 75 pt match? It says NIL. Just a little confused on how this works.

Or since he's level 2 shouldnt it be 100 pts with 10 pts of support troops?

AesophDarkfable has caught an error. I typed the matchup before I saw Takasi's week 17 results update. Then I forgot to update it once I updated his level (since his game was done before this week started). I sent you both an e-mail to help prevent suprise at you meeting this week.

Yes! Goboswarm! (<--reverse psychology, get ready for Soth! Or is THIS reverse reverse psychology!?)

Actually, this is a theoretical question, since I can bring at most 28 squares of creatures and the smallest assembly tile has 33 open squares.

But, for a level 10 warlord vs. level 7, 300pt band with 12 creatures and 30 x 3 = 90 support points, in theory we could see a band of 12 + 11 minions + 30 support weenies = 53 creatures, which by the rules is ok right now. Consider a fireball wiping out 44 creatures in one blast. GoboKabobS!

Maybe this topic has gone on too far already :).. but what the heck:

I'm not gonna do the math, but I bet you could push the space on your entry tile by putting a few large guys or even a huge or two in.. a few treants fill the space pretty good :). I guess it'd be tough just because they are such high point guys usually.. maybe in a 500 pointer :). A level 10 commander could have 6 treants in his 300 point army and maybe even still have room for a few peons.. that's pushing 60 squares :).

Also, I will officially hate anyone who brings 6 treants into a battle with me :).

Tkort.

Yes 28 is the max squares my Urthok-based 150 pt with 15 support band could cover, but a 300 pt band with a couple treants and a slough of GC's could cover more than one assy tile easily, which is why I asked the question.
