B came in second. Carl won. I know what you mean about not getting the figs to have much hope. My Grell and Longtooth Barbarian aren't going to last against a Coatl, Destrachan, or a pumped Warforged Hero. I had one of those games against Logan where my Ambush Drake managed to nail 6 of his 8 figs in his slow breath cone and EVERY ONE OF THEM made their save. ARRRGGGHH! Playing Kevin it was the other way and all three of his heavy hitters were slowed. There's random and then there's useless. It seemed to me like getting one fig made the difference between winning and losing and in a balanced set that shouldn't be happening. Still fun though.

I must admit, my frustration at our pre-release reached a pretty high level. It's not that I pulled terrible (although, I didn't pull well), it's that I had one of those games where you also can't make a save.

At our tournament, my son Alex pulled a Gibbering Mouther and a Dire Bear. He also didn't pull any commander. He made up a band with that Dire Bear and just had to count on a few rushes. Somehow he managed to do it; he hung in there and ended up taking 5th place.

But, I totally understand what you mean about the saves and all that. In my last two tournaments I was 0-3 and 1-3; and both times the dice were absolutely out to get me.
