| Congrats to Matt!
I'm glad to see that our venue wasn't the only one to tweak with the format, once everyone who was there was onboard with the change.
Did you stick to Aberrations tiles, or did you just open things up?

| | Lucky stiffs. Though I guess I shouldn't complain. I did want one more Aberrations starter--only my 2nd. And my rare was a HEBI. I didn't need any more Aberrations figures, but can you ever have too many HEBIs? I had to beat a Centaur Hero along the way, but I'm just as glad I didn't have to face a Beholder. | | "Before God we are all equally wise - and equally foolish." - Albert Einstein Champion of Myopic Half-Orcs Winner, WBC X | |

| The Beholder swept our tournament here in Winnipeg also. I never got to face that band. I sure would have liked to have given that a shot though. Now I'll have to wait before getting any experience dealing with this new threat.
Good for you guys not having to buy another Abberations starter pack. I would have liked to have done the same, but our local FLGS wouldn't have it. I did get to enter a booster draft immediately after going 3 and 1 in the pre-release and just barely not making it to the finals. I managed to win the booster draft tourney with a few good pulls on my side. Blue Dragon,Specter,Scrullcrusher Ogre,BloodHulk, Deathlock, Spellstiched and Orc Savage led me to victory. The prize booster contained.... Drumroll please!... You guessed it a Beholder. Yeh Baby! Well maybe if I'm lucky me friends will get a chance to practice against him before our cases arrive this week. | | John

| Well, no one has pulled a Beholder here yet. The guy who drew Rask won. He is a wrecking machine (both Rask and the guy running him).
Despite some grotesque misunderstanding involving Commander 0, we all managed to have fun. Nobody pulled a Beholder in the prizes, either. So somewhere in Austin there is a Beholder. I can sense it. And it WILL BE MINE! [:D]

| | Thanks for the report Kiddoc. The Beholder is just a beast in the sealed or draft formats. You need just the right formula (luck) to get a band that can defeat it. I was thinking maybe a HEBI and Zombie dragon might have a chance. Or Centaur hero and Spectre. Something that can tie up and base the beholder and a great ranged unit. | | They just don't know what's good in life...Conan, tell them what is good in life. To rip the boosters.
