Good work Chattan! [^]

| My first 2 matches came down to VP, both very close. I lost to Todd in the third round. I decided to take my boneclaw up to him, I should have stayed where I was and let hime come to me, this proved my downfall.
Vs Chad, I lost. What can I say, you lose your commander in the third round from a ettin that moves 8 and he has a +8 on initive. I did get my chull on that ettin and froze him so my half lizard could place in the grave. But without my commander I was very limited on trying to get back.
The TO showed up and had a store worker run the event (officially) so I got to play. I was shaking for the first 2 rounds and warband assembly. I have not played in a sactioned event for some time, and have not had much other chance of really playing as I have been running the events. I still had to make many judgment calls as the offical judge did not know the rules at all.
It was a very long day with the time schedule micommunicated. I did have fun. and it was good to get some playing in. | | First peon to make it to "Knight Warlord" Completed Trades -148-

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one who gets so excited/tense/nervous to the point of shaking during minis events. I frequently laugh at myself for taking it so seriously. [:I]
You did a great job on judging during play. We appreciate your efforts. It was a great time...8 hours of pure minis action for $30 is a great deal (not to mention that you actually get product for that price).

You guys really don't understand just how much whining Mook was doing during the tournament. If I had a nickel for everytime he lamented about taking the VoB over the AW, I could've paid for a case of DK. [:P]

I don't understand. 16 people = 4 rounds. With only 1 undefeated, i can't see any possible or plausible explaination for play to continue. Seems inconsistant, and i would definately be upset if i were Todd.
On a side note, i wish i could have been there this weekend. Had relatives in town, combined with the fact that i really wasn't excited by the aberations starter, i didn't feel like it was a good idea to blow my visitors off.

| At the beginning of the tourney they said 5 rounds. It's not as much about getting one un-defeated, 4 rounds is only good for determining first place. Almost all swiss only events go log2(n)+1 for that reason.
The chart the DCI uses is also for a three round playoff, guaranteeing that a single loss won't cut you from the playoff, but two almost certianly will. i.e. you get one bad matchup per tourney. | | The Miniatures War College -- Advenio paratus. Egressus melior paratus.

I think everyone was happy to call it quits after 4 rounds (and 6+ hours of gaming) except Steve. He was trying to break into the top 4 to qualify for prize support and needed a good 5th round matchup to be able to do so (he was unsuccessful). Once we decided to go a 5th round, there was no way I was going to drop out and lose my chance at prizes. [:P] Of course, I thought I was going to be lucky to get 3rd or 4th...instead everything happened to go my way and I ended up winning it all. [:0]
shemnon was correct in reporting that it was announced at the beginning that the event would go 5 rounds.
BTW, we missed you, Lucky_KSU...but those of us that won prizes were glad you weren't there to bump us down. [)]

that is ok you did not make it, I remember you telling me you were not going to because of the Aberration starter. As for the 5th round Steve (who has more DCI event experience them I do) insisted that we had to play another round. I looked through all my papper work regarding DCI rules and I could not find the info regarding how many rounds you need to play with the number of players. I do remember seeing it somewhere, but I could not find it. | | First peon to make it to "Knight Warlord" Completed Trades -148-

This is a new chart, 16 players is off of the bottom of the chart. I remember seeing an old chart that switched to 5 rounds at 20. This new one is single length to a top 8. So if there wasn't a top 8 the chart is meaningless. | | The Miniatures War College -- Advenio paratus. Egressus melior paratus.

| I'd really like to see some reports from shemnon, spikegif, Mook, and Corim Danex on their tourney experiences. I learn alot from write ups and would be very interested to see what you (shemnon and Corim) have to say about our matches.

| | Between the timing screw up, bad pulls, and bad rolls at critical times such a report would violate my too much whining rule. Oops, looks like I've crossed it already... | | The Miniatures War College -- Advenio paratus. Egressus melior paratus. | |
