| re: the first one, make it all skirmishers. they are much better than warriors, even with the lower AC. unless you don' have any more.
Re: the second, hobgoblins die really fast. they don't seem like it, but they just get spanked. Also, with no really heavy hitters, it could be bad to close with a commander as fragile as the skullsplitter, even though it seems good to have another executioners blade. I ran 5 hobgoblins, urthok, a mind flayer tp, and 2 gravehounds. gravehounds get a chance to stun on every attack, so they can get in a commander's face and stun him, preventing him from putting units under command. I don't even use bladebearers anymore... I switched them out for human executioners, and the extra 6 pointsx5 let me just add a skullcrusher ogre for screening and hitting. Executioners don't hit quite as often as bladebearers under urthok, but it's still pretty good (+14 to out of command units) and they're hitting for 20 at that point, whereas bladeberers only hit for 15x2, which means that you have to set up a VERY surgical strike to make sure all your hobgoblins will get 2 attacks, and a good player will simply not let that happen. Granted, the hobgoblins have 4 higher AC, but against a tuned warband (trifecta, gfd, frenzy, lsd), the hobgoblins will still be hit almost every time (or at least 3 times out of 4). I think it's better to use your exeblades as one-shots and just assume that the creature will die after it's all over. then whoever's left over is the lucky one.
Now, you might want to try out a grell instead of the gravehounds, but then you have to find some points somewhere and you're getting rid of your tile grabber, but the grell gets 4 chances to paralyze a commander, which could be much better than 2-3 chances to stun. whatever you do, don't use the human cleric of bane. he's way too expensive, and the stacking executioners blade isn't even worth it. | | | |

| The Beholder / Dual Gauth-Warband looks great. The Mushroom Tangle-Tile and Aftermath-Tile are your friend. [:D] I really miss my second Gauth, then I could play this, too. | | German championship 12.05.07 in Berlin --------------------------------------------------------------------- Want to play DDM in Berlin, Germany? http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/dndminisberlin/ | |

| I like the first band, but the second seems really weak to me...
