Man, before anyone jumps all over this with a "won't win assault" stuff, I just have to say...

This looks like a great deal of fun! I'd love to give it a try but I aint got the rats!
If those rats could all swarm the one target, they could oblitirate!

Man, I've done some Evermeet rat swarms in the past, and they're a blast.

Using the Orc Shaman is an interesting new option for the rat swarm. Why bother with the Orc Druid, at all, now that you have the Orc Shaman? If I had that many rats, I'd want to run this, though:

Orc Druid
Druid of Obad-hai x4
Drow Sergeant x2
Timber Wolf x5

That way your rats do +5 damage all the time. The extra Drow Sergeant gives you a bit of insurance to keep the bonus damage going longer. You could drop the extra drow and Timber Wolves and include a 5th druid, if you have 20 rats you really want to use. You'd have room for 12 points of filler--maybe 3 Hyenas or two Timber Wolves. Or you could drop the extra drow and 1 wolf for a Tiefling Captain.

Would get crazy trying to remember what rat goes to what druid. However, i really like the idea. Could it work as a spoiler band?

Looking to buy some figures? Chances are I may have them!! Check here!!

I prefer to distinguish identical minis by numbering them. As long as you group logically, there should be no trouble. I used to play a Red Wizard/Cultist of the Dragon band that summoned Abyssal Maws out the wazoo. Cultist #1 would summon maws numbered 1 - 4, cultist #2 summons maws #5-8, etc. Then it wasn't difficult, at all, figuring out which summoned creatures would be eliminated when the summoner was eliminated.

Spoiler band? Don't know. I never tried it with any seriousness, but then I only have 10 Dire Rats and 2 Druids of Obad-hai. I've played around with them using Orc Champion support. It's not a bad band, but it's not going to beat a well-built band from a top player. Area effects are a real pain, because the rats have to bunch up to be effective against opponents with even decent AC and hp. And very fast opponents can ruin your day by taking out druids before you can even finish summoning in round 2, if played aggressively.

I think rats are under appreciated!
I once played 12 rats in a 50 pt game and i mopped up my opponent. Swarms rule when you get +12 to hit for 9 rats! DR bites though [:)].

Thats a good point, I wasnt thinking about beastmaster removing difficult all together and others being able to add commander effects. I guess I was just looking for an excuse to use the shaman.

Im out- find me on Hordelings if you want to chat.
