| | Pyromancer. For a few reasons. He is good vs Chraals and the first turn fireball is a threat that most people try to avoid so that messes up their tactics a bit. Or the Pegasus because he is also a good Commander Killer and has DR 5 and all those crazy abilitys + F10 is a good flanker..etc. Hmm Goliath Barb looks nice but I dont know.. | | Welcome to Eternal Crack... | I always have a soft spot for Crow Shaman, I will pick him and Celestial Pegasus.F10 is strong to be ignore and it take a beater to take him off a victory area.

| | Elf Pyromancer is required for any IF band to be competitive in the modern play enviroment (in my opinion.) | | I am not gone. | |

| | I agree with the Elf Pyromancer, but I think I'd leave Aramil out. I'd rather either a Healer or extra activations. | | "Before God we are all equally wise - and equally foolish." - Albert Einstein Champion of Myopic Half-Orcs Winner, WBC X | |

| Don't overlook Aramil. Before Angelfire hit (and the maps) he was the metagame answer for IF/FB bands. He worked wonders against red dragons and made the LSD a very easy match up. Also getting off a pair of ray of enfeeblement on CE hitters will make 2 FB's win the hitter fight against quad a lot of the time.
The pyro is nice on some of the maps, but something like the mithral mines he may end up doing nothing much but giving resistances to the berserkers. At the championships on one fixed map he was definatly a solid choice. On a variety of maps, its not as clear. | | Looking for someone to cosponser a midwest DDM event. let me know if your interested! Check out my brand new blog: http://bshugg.blogspot.com

| | I think the Pyro is much better on Fane of Lolth because its very vunerable to first turn fireball and all those good reason. But on some maps, like Mithral Mines, I think a Goliath Barbarian would be alot better for more melee power. In short it really depends on the map :). | | Welcome to Eternal Crack... | Your focus is the Frenzied. As such, I'd drop Aramil for Nebbin for a little blur action. Blur to the Frenzied is the equivalent of about a +4 or +5 to AC ... (ie; creatures would hit a blurred FB about as often as they'd hit one wioth a +4 or +5 on its AC).
Then, I'd say Pyromancer is the choice, as he gets synergy with the Marshall ... being able to move a heap before launching that fireball is key. Use the threat of fireball on turn 1, and the actual fireball on turn 2.
However, I would not use a FB band these days ... too many JAs flying around to whack 'em down. | | Champion of Meepo _*_ Myztek on the Wizards Boards. _*_ (2206 DDM on 03/06/06) Please note: The use of the indicates an attempt at humor ... often a bad attempt. | | I'm curious. Are you sure that nobody will be playing 3 or 4 Justice Archons? It's a very common warband, and would give IF a lot of trouble - especially if you run the Elf Pyromancer and he runs the Couatl. | | Over 270 successful online DDM trades.
