| You could also try to work in a Half-Elf Hexblade to lower enemy saves even further. That starts to get expensive, though, when you consider that you are spending between 90 and 100 points just for the single Medusa and Hexblade combo, which may or may not pay off. That said, I have seen a Storm Giant with full hp fail a save and get turned to stone by a Medusa in a 500 point game, so sometimes the Medusa can really shine. You never know, but I still think there are better uses of, what, 62 point?

| Yeah Medusa is one of those really crappy Harbinger rares. Costs a lot to do very little. They need to make a newer version that doesn't suck.

| Aesoph hit it, but I think that the new trog cmdr may very well be just as effective, especially if the trog barbarian is any good. You can have some screeners and tech. You may need a second commander, but we'll just have to wait to see.

| I think every Harbinger rare that sucked should be redone to be a playable creature. So far we have a better Minotaur, Centaur, Mummy, Mind Flayer, Thri-Kreen, Troll and Ogre. Medusa and the Elementals are really the only ones not replaced with something better as yet. Though Stone Golem is close enough for the Earth Elemental and Efreeti might be okay for the Fire Elemental too. And there are still players waiting for a piece to be created to make the Umber Hulk actually useable too I bet.

| It's a shame they can't re-issue a couple of nice high quality PDF's to errata or re-up some of the skirmish values for some of the pieces that are simple un-playable.
But I suppose that would set a bad precedent. And why make my 2 Hr. Medusa's playable when you can just sell me a shiny new Medusa Queen :p | |
