| | I think its a solid build with the disclaimers you put in place. Lacks a little bit of punch but your going to try and make up for them with stuns. Sounds fun | | Im out- find me on Hordelings if you want to chat. | |

| | I'm going to nick that idea.. It looks pretty fun! Not sold on the Skeletal Dwarfs, but this looks like it'll run much better than the Brain Dead band I used to run back in the day (Flayer, solid commander and Dread Guards). I like the synergy with the Naga and the Horrors using the Lightning bolts, and the Horrors can hold strong enough for the Naga-powered mindflayer stuns. I did try Chraals with the Mindflayers recently, but I couldn't crack a combo that worked.. | | | |

| | It's actually a pretty good synergy. I'd be worried about the mind flayer's livlihood, but a stun every turn ain't bad. I'd also try for a second mind flayer, but that's just me. | | **Note: Unless otherwise stated all my minis are unbagged** My reference thread is at: http://www.maxminis.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=12765 Graduate school is swollowing my soul!!!! I actually tried the MFT and SP at a local tourney in September. Wasn't as strong as I had hoped. Good players can still get spread out and block the predator from important pieces before he can burp on the main group. This might be different with maps though, I'll have to try it again. The band was:
Mind Flayer Telepath Steel Predator Red Wizard Blue

| Thanks for the input everyone. I'll let you know how it runs once I've had a chance to play it.

I wanted to try the Chralls too, since they make it easier to block access to the mind flayer, but didn't really feel I could get enough into the band with a strong commander, chralls, and flayer. | | Champion of the Yeti (large uncommon please!) Assistant to the Regional Manager | |

| | And the other inherent problem with Mindflayers and Chraals, is it cranks up the squishyness quite a lot. Going after the commander is always an attractive proposition in Chraal Builds, and if there is a Mindflayer (Telepath or Vanilla) sat behind the Chraals as well as the Commander the Chraals are linked to, it makes it much more worthwhile to bypass the Chraals, as the Flayers predictaby go squish in combat with relative ease. Anyone ever sucessfully use a Mindflayer Rend? I haven't managed it yet.. | | | |

| | Oh, and IMHO Flayer and Steel Predator is a bit of a one trick pony. Works better in 500 points (more Predators, room for a Blackguard, and multiple Telepaths). | | | |

| | I actually used mindflayer rend once, back in the day, against a hound archon. The DR made it quite an ineffective attack, but it was better than nothing. | | **Note: Unless otherwise stated all my minis are unbagged** My reference thread is at: http://www.maxminis.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=12765 Graduate school is swollowing my soul!!!!
