| | spider swarm kicks ass. 15 points and one of the best speed bumps ever. Make them waste a spell or devote alot of time beating on it. regardless of the low DC, its worth the shot to get the poison off. You are definately getting your points value out of the swarm. | | Minis... Serious Business Completed Trades (18 ) | Pending Trades (0) Ebay seller to Avoid –Fantasy_Quest_Dist

| | If you trample and your opponent take AoO he's auto poisoned. I believe unless it's been changed if you trample and your opponent attacks he takes the auto damage. | | Champion of Jarlaxle Sets: Star Wars Year one complete,44/60 Champions of the Force,0/60 Bounty Hunters | |

Yeah, and if you've got someone behind it adding some healing it gets downright annoying. Hmmm, I wonder who would do that? | | WotC - making me wish more and more every day for a return to the TSR days. :(

Are you thinking about RPG rules? To my knowledge there is not auto damage for taking an AoO from the trample.
If you trample the creature, he would still get to roll against the poison DC, even if he took a AoO.

| | Getting back to the topic, I would use the trample. In fact in the prerelease I trampled a Xorn and moved next to three other units and use the swarm attack (Nothing poisoned, but it was fun). | | | |

| If they fail the save against the trample, they are automatically poisoned (there's not a separate roll for the poison save in that case). This is in Guy's clarifications, IIRC.
Unless you really, really need that extra square or two of movement, Sam, you may as well take the trample on the big guy. | | "Why am I all sticky and naked? Did I miss something fun?" -Vindicated champion of Tordek, Dwarf Champion

Correct, the trample save IS the poison save in this case. Note you may only trample one creature per turn. | | There are 10 kinds of people in the world; those who understand binary, and those who don't. Reference Thread, H/W List, Champion of the Catoblepas

| | I think the spider swarm is cool because it is such a pain to kill, unless they want to devote a lot of melee to it or waste some spells on it. Either way for 15 points he's not bad. | | Jason Slingerland

The first time I used the swarm it started almost next to me. | Formless is the ability that any ranged or melee attack deals only 5 damage at most, so the Orc Champ hits the swarm for 5pt, just like the Man-at-Arms.
The Spider Swarm is a one shot use that makes all adjacent creatures make a save against the Swarms Poison (DC12) or they are poisoned.
